T.Low 1,011 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 (edited) Ahh, yes, the OSHL. The schedule could then be cut back to 70 games so each team could play each other 14 times. Sweet. The NHL teams are each an NHL " franchise" though...could be a (high)sticking point. I do like the thought of an OS division, except for the fact that then there could never be an OS Stanley Cup Final. Cut out some of the dopey teams (markets), I welcome contraction. They've been trying so hard to grow the game that its come at expense of the integrity of the game. Edited May 6, 2009 by T.Low
CenterIce 83 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 I Like this idea sounds great, but how about this an original six division, all eastern time zone and we would actually see great hockey Not to pick on your idea, but Chicago is in the Central Time Zone.
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 Hell yeah the Original six should leave and take a few valuable franchises with them. How about a league starting with: Detroit Red Wings Toronto Maple Leafs Montreal Canadiens New York Rangers Boston Bruins Chicago Blackhawks St. Louis Blues Philadelphia Flyers Dallas Stars Colorado Avalanche San Jose Sharks Buffalo Sabres I think that'd be an entertaining league, though the Western teams are few and far between which would create problems. Valuable? Or just the ones you like? The Sharks are 19th; the Sabres are 21st; the Blues, 25th. I think you've just made a list of teams you think "belong" instead of actually choosing "valuable" teams.
