Mike 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 Your opinions mean absolutely nothing. Why is our D weak? I wanna see some statistics/facts on why you think that. You're comments have no proof to them. It's annoying how dumb you guys are. I'm not being classless. just trying to explain to you guys you have absolutely no idea what you are even talking about. You're a disgrace to real Wings fans. And somehow your opinions mean something? Your a Penguins fan posting on a RED WINGS FORUM. What do you expect? Some candy and a hug? You keep asking for statistics and facts. Well, just look at the posts above yours. There are stats galore. Continue to ignore them and continue to call for facts, statistics, etc. I'd say you're a disgrace to Pens fans, but you are just like the rest of them. Stop trolling. Cern 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 Do you see what i mean though? Instead of talking hockey....backing up detroit with facts...bashing Pens with facts...you try and take a show at me for a spelling error? Are you kidding me? You guys just prove day in and day out that you aren't even true fans and most likely dont know anything about hockey... It's pathetic. The facts are, a whopping two players are responsible for the entirety of the Penguins' offense. The talk of the Penguins having 'deep' offense is a complete and utter illusion - you can't seriously expect people like Talbot or Satan being scoring threats without either Crosby or Malkin holding their hand. The Wings second and third lines don't need to be babysat by Datsyuk or Hossa in order to score goals. Add in the fact that neither Crosby nor Malkin are particularly stunning at defensive hockey and the Penguins' best defenseman is clearly still injured, and Fleury can't stop rebounds to save his life, I'd be very nervous about the Wings simply being able to outcycle Pittsburgh with scoring threats. You guys just prove day in and day out that you aren't even true fans and most likely dont know anything about hockey... It's pathetic. What Wings fans have proven is that they've grown accustomed to watching their Team succeed in the Play Offs since your Kidtain was in grade school, and your Team was in the CELLAR, and a laughingstock in this League. Congratulations on sucking SO BADLY, for SO LONG, that it netted you a halfway decent Team based on excellent draft positioning alone. What Wings fans have ALSO learned is that talk is cheap..... They have to Win it ON THE ICE, muffin. And until they do.... You're STILL a fan of the Team who watched the Wings skate the Cup on THEIR HOME ICE just last Season. They're STILL the Runner Up. Second best. Until THAT status changes..... Feel free to leave anytime, Princess. You wouldn't want to miss the exciting conclusion to the circle jerk, now would you? LET'S GO RED WINS!!!! P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 This has been interesting season. The fall and rise and fall of Dallas. The great turnarounds by Pittsburgh and Anaheim in the spring. Phoenix was in playoffs for most of the season. Columbus making the playoffs for the first time. The playoff disappointments of San Jose and Boston. The mess of Montreal. Red Wings fighting with Cup hangover all season long.
Outsider 42 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 Only two goals didn't involve Malkin or Crosby, one of which was the empty netter Satan's goal was the only one not involving Crosby and/or Malkin 4 of 6 involving one or the other a whopping 0 goals not involving either of them. The Penguins have no genuine depth, it's the result of two players and two players alone. If one or the other went cold they wouldn't even BE in the ECF - what the hell else are Satan or Guerin going to do without someone to feed them pucks? The fact that we're winning series with Datsyuk and Hossa cold (although Hossa had a multipoint game last night) I think actually bodes rather well for the Wings. Pound for pound Detroit has more offensive threats than the Penguins. Gonchar is keeping Datsyuk smothered? Great, that leaves guys like Hal 'Pylon' Gill to prevent Zetterberg, Franzen, Samuelsson, Filpulla, Hudler, Lidstrom, and Rafalski from getting scoring chances. There's simply too many potential scoring threats on the Wings' roster for the Penguins to keep adequately plugged up at once. THERE YA GO, Cern! THAT'S what I want to hear!!!! Cern 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 THERE YA GO, Cern! THAT'S what I want to hear!!!! It's not exactly rocket science, man. Hell, the Wings figured that Pittsburgh's depth is an optical illusion a year ago and it took the Penguins three games just to get a goal.

Hell, the Wings figured that Pittsburgh's depth is an optical illusion a year ago and it took the Penguins three games just to get a goal. Playing Devil's advocate is my favorite pasttime. Bar none.... I'm worried about Dats. I think his foot is actually broken and that even if he does return this Post Season, (certainly not a given), he'll be a fraction of what he was last PO's. I'm worried about Hank. I think he's hurting. He's been a warrior out there, but even at that, he hasn't been as good as he was when he won the Conn. I'm worried that the "twinge" I saw from Franzenstein in G7 against the duckies, and the further "twinge" I saw in the closing seconds of G1 against the Hawks means trouble. He hasn't been the same since R3:G1. Haven't you noticed? He's been practically invisible. I'm worried about Hossa. Hell.....I don't think anyone is NOT worried about Hossa. I'm worried about Nick. He looks tired. I'm worried that they ALL look tired. I know what they're capable of. I know that when they turn it on, there is NO TEAM better. And so it bugs the HELL out of me when they give less than 100%. I HATE to see them lose. Because on any given night......there's only ONE TEAM who can consistenly "beat" the Detroit Red Wings. And that Team is the Detroit Red Wings.
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 We have the best 2 players in the game Oh? When did Ovechkin join the Pens? Lidstrom? Datsyuk? Because I only see one Penguin in the list of award candidates this year.

He's the only one who comes close in terms of points, PK, PP or any other measure aside from grit. Is Lidstrom looking like the Conn vintage Lids? Not really, he looks a few years older. He doesn't look 7 years older than that guy, though. Lids has dropped off from has prime, but it's pretty remarkable that his drop off version is still better than the prime version of the rest of the NHL's defensemen. EDIT: I agree with you, at least in part, about the rest of your post. I'd say Datsyuk's injury happened before the play-offs, though. He went silent just before the season ended and hasn't really woken up since. Based on his history of remarkable consistency I'd say a injury is the obvious culprit. Don't get me wrong. I'm not calling Lids out for poor play. I've no reason to. I'm just saying he looks tired. He still looks like Nick, but he DOES look tired. That's not something I'm accustomed to seeing. And it worries me a bit.
