Something that I've noticed about Mellon Arena

Aha, you must have experienced Mellon Arena when it went by the more demure moniker, The Civic Arena, back in the day. Feeling the breeze from the outside world invade the crowd like a whiff of exhaled life as the roof opened synchronized to the Pink Floyd on stage jamming "Breath"...sublime, purely sublime.

The bemasked and histrionic icon band KISS lit up the Arena as well, maybe not as harmonically and in touch as they would in say in....Detroit Rock City.

Mellon Arena is a steel monstrosity barely arching like a mump against the Pittsburgh skyline. it is like most of Pittsburgh: a little outdated, a little behind the times, but it is ours.

I miss the wind in Three Rivers Stadium too. One never had worry about a cold beer; keeping the hotdogs warm was a whole different story.

Our city is in the midst of a forced and contrived transformation. Seat licenses and corporate boxes for all!! Twenty-dollar beers are all the rage these days. Be sure to get your Mellon Bank ™ penguin shaped frisbee (while supplies last, free to children under 12 accompanied by an adult, we reserve the right to transfer or change the free offering at our sole discretion, Pat Pent).

Me, I'll be at my regular set in Alexions Bar and Grill, $2.50 Miller High Lifes and shots of Jack on goals. Stop by and we'll talk about the two-line pass and how to spot a real Jagr throwback mullet.

Where did you dig that up?

Google Van Damme dancing and that was the first one.

I think either NFM or NorrisNick were the first to post it last year during the Trade deadline.
