titanium2 867 Report post Posted June 13, 2009 Not quite. Big difference. Pens fans though their own player deserved it over Hank last year. Some people here think Fluery deserved it over Malkin. Neither of them are Wings. If people were saying that one of the Wings should have won it (after losing the Cup), instead of Malkin, your comparison would make sense. Right, it's not exactly the same, but the "he didn't deserve it" attitude comes from the same place. He doesn't care who wins the Conn Smythe he's just pissed the Wings lost. TheUltimateWingsFan 1 Report post Posted June 13, 2009 Malkin was definitely the MVP of the Pens, and therefore probably the playoffs. I thought it was pretty much between Osgood and Malkin, and since the Pens won, Malkin got the nod. He was the most dangerous player on the ice for the Pens, and the Wings did well to limit his effectiveness, but man, that guy is scary to play against. Honorable mention goes to Crosby and Zetterberg, with a nice pat on the back for Franzen.
