mru22 1 Report post Posted June 13, 2009 For the people that watched him all year was he really near 100% at any time in the finals ? No excuses but I'm thinking back at game 3 when detroit was ahead 2-1 if he was in that and game 4 it might have wings in 5.

BuckeyeWingsfan80 209 Report post Posted June 13, 2009 I'm not sure he would have come back when he did IF it were the regular season. There is no way he was 100% at any time.
mru22 1 Report post Posted June 13, 2009 What im asking is how healthy was he really in the last two games ? I know he had minutes but to me at least didn't seem to do anything overly impressive.
T.Low 1,011 Report post Posted June 13, 2009 He certainly didn't have the jump he usually has. And remember, he was the team leader in hits before. He wasn't throwing hardly any hits since his return. He wasn't close to 100%. Too bad, but thats all part of why the Stanely is so difficult to win.
10 Minute Misconduct 104 Report post Posted June 13, 2009 threads like these are what makes the loss more depressing. i was fine until i read all the "what-ifs" on here. he got injured, just liek crosby did tonight. just so happened it happened going into the finals and not at the end. You have to be good and lucky, the Wings were neither by the time the Finals rolled around- I mean Ericsson has to get his appendix removed? Lidstrom's playoff iron-man streak ends? Pavel's foot injury (I think it must have been broken), Lilja going down in a fight from Feb. 28th and they say he still may not be ready for training camp? And I read on MLive Z was playing with some sort of wrist injury? And we had Cleary playing through an injury, and maybe Raf wasn't 100% coming back, and losing Kopecky in the Ana series as well, it got to be ridiculous and it really is amazing we came as close as we did despite all that alone, let alone all the other factors that didn't go our way, but it still stings pretty damn bad right now

Stiffy 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2009 Hey, like what if the Red Wings had like a Transformer on their team and like during a break away he could have like transformed like half his body into like a Zamboni making the ice in front of his team mates like real slick and like you know, then like we could have skated like real fast and liked scored goals and stuff and like beaten the Penns.
