in this playoff run, not to mention various regular season games, how many times have all of you seen the wings get ahead by a safe score early only to be slashed, headhunted, and just any other form of cheapshoted the rest of the game??? it is insane how this is going on. there is a rule that suspends fight instigators in the last five minutes of the game, (although malkin is exempt) but there is nothing in place for the bulls*** minor pentalies at the end of the game. game 5 of the finals for example when pens were head checking kronwall late, taking baseball swings at dats injured foot, and endless amounts of other bulls*** there was no more than a few 2 minute minors give to a game that was already out of reach any way. why wouldn't every team that goes down in a game during a series take out a few stars for the rest of the series?? there are no consequences!! i just would like to know if anyone else has noticed this and if there has been media talk about this chaos going on.

When the playoffs are concerned, the league doesn't want to "influence" a series, so they usually go soft on discipline. As you know, this helps out the teams that are less skilled, so they can get away with a lot. The league is hypocritical when they call ever little thing during the regular season, and then let pretty much every thing go the farther the playoffs go. The chalk it up to the players have "learned" what is a penalty or not. I don't agree with all the cheap penalties, but if a call is a call in October, it should be one in June; otherwise, they are just going back to the regular season rule book and the playoff pamphlet.

Yeah, I still can't believe he got the Malkin treatment for game 3. It's bulls***. "oh, he's too exciting of a player to get suspended, so we'll let it go!"

That's why the instigator at the end of a game is SUPPOSED to be an automatic suspension. To prevent these things. It's a pity that the NHL is so blinded by favoritism they forgot this. And yeah I bet if it were a Wing that did it, they would have been suspended in a heart beat.

and now we find out lidstrom got his scrotum destroyed and thats why he was out for those couple of games. of course it was a stick to the groin that wasn't even a call. this is so much bulls***.
