Guest mindfly Report post Posted July 24, 2009 Incorrect, all a two-way deal means is that he has one salary if he plays up here and another salary if he plays in the NHL. On a one way deal the player and the team agree to one salary regardless if the player is playing in Detroit or GR. Either way the only salaries that count against the cap are those on the active roster. Are you sure? So them 833K$ won't hit the wings cap if he plays in GR? We could (technically) move Datsyuk to the AHL and he wouldn't count against the cap. He'd have to clear waivers, which wouldn't happen unless all 29 other GM's were hit by the Stupid Truck, but according to the rules, he wouldn't count. Kris Draper, on the other hand, would count. His contract went into effect after he turned 35. It's a CBA thing. Section 50.2, IIRC, but don't quote me on that.
