shootout lineup this season?

I can't wait to see Hank pull off a few half-assed attempts at the Forsberg move!!!

It will be Pav, Hank, and Williams, but Hank just isn't that great at the shootout. Babcock needs to experiment with others in his place.

I agree, Hank just isn't great at shootouts, i think bert would do better, i can't stand bertuzzi but i think he'd do better than hank. hang em up on the shoot out hank.

I dont think bertuzzi going a whopping 2 for 3 last season means much. Had he scored on 67% of his chances over say 12-15 opportunities then yeah.

I think Datsyuk will be the only staple in the shootout lineup. I could see the 2 and 3 slot being given to whoever looks hot on that night. Anyone from Williams, Filppula, Franzen, Zetterberg, Leino, Eaves, and Cleary

It was in this order when we had Williams so I see them going back to it.

What it should be

1. Datsyuk

2. Bertuzzi

3. Filp

I love Hank as much as the next girl but shootouts are not his forte.

Filppula over Hank? Hank's no Datsyuk in the shootout, but he's consistently among the top three Red Wings in shootout goals over the last two seasons (along with Hudler and Datsyuk who each claimed the top SO scorer prize once over the last two years). According to NHL.com Filppula's never scored a goal in the shootout. Soft hands just aren't an area where you can rank Filppula among the top players on the team.

He was still the best shootout guy on the Flames. Take it for what it's worth, but you can't disregard it just because his team wasn't in many shootouts.

I doubt Zetterberg is going to lose the 2nd slot, though. Babcock seems to like Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Hudler on the shootout over the last 2 years. Now that Huds is gone the next best option is Bertuzzi, Cleary, Leino or Franzen. Filppula and Williams haven't had successful shootout careers (Filppula hasn't scored in one yet and Williams hasn't scored more often than 30% of the time).
