Forseberg with new comeback attempt?

I'm thinking Peter has his eyes set on joining the Avalanche. They've got a good team and cap space.

Word is that is foot is better than it's been in many years, so hopefully that shouldn't stop his comeback attempt atleast.

Per Sportsnet:

Former Hart Trophy winner Peter Forsberg informed Vancouver Canucks general manager Mike Gillis that he will remain in Sweden this season and not attempt another comeback in the NHL.

Gillis confirmed the news after speaking with Forsberg on Monday morning. On February 25, 2008, Forsberg signed a contract with the Colorado Avalanche for the remainder of the season, but played in just nine games due to a groin injury.

Forsberg will play the remainder of the season in Sweden with league club MoDo.

Me too. I'd love to have Boyd Devereaux back.

French, good looking and was a great checker. He made that Hull and Datsyuk line go in 2002.

i got to hang with him a couple times when he was a wing. nicest guy ever. always will have a soft spot for boyd the void!

Okay, NOW it's official. Forsberg will be playing for Modo in the SEL this year. Not only that, his buddy Markus Naslund will make a comeback and play for the same team.

AND, they will both play for free.

I just read the news and it made me so happy! I only live an hour from Örnsköldsvik (Modo home town) and gets the oppurtunity to see forsberg and naslund together is like a wet dream come true! I know I know they are far from prime but still! I never got to see them play in the nhl so this feels like a second chance for me, i'll make sure to go to as many games i can before they retire :scared:

I live in Luleå right now (studying there) so I'm definitely going to try and get tickets for whenever Modo comes to town :)

I live in Umeå, maybe we should hook up sometime and watch a modo game and drink some beers. I don't have any friends who are as hockey interested as me. it is boring sometimes and my friends thinks im crazy who stays up til 4am to watch hockey! -_-

If anyone is interested, here is highlights of forsbergs "comeback" game (he had 3 assists, 1 goal post and a nasty hit). http://tv.hockeyligan.se/main.aspx?contentid=11668655105
