If I order the NHL center ice pkg will that be enough to watch all the games throughout the season? (with the exception of when they're on nbc and spike?) I heard they over some sports pkg seperate from center ice and it sounds like they have a very few amount of games in that seperate package. Anywho what's your advice. Guest Shoreline Report post Posted September 25, 2009 Normal circumstances means you'd not be able to watch games that come on Versus, and last year it included NBC, and if there's a local affiliate carrier that gets the rights like WJBK. Hmm, it might also not include NHL Network games. Chances are, this season, it will include the olympics too for ice hockey -- likely mostly USA and Canada games rebroadcasted from CBC or TSN. Center Ice could also black out games for you if your local team is the Lightning or Panthers, for instance, and those with the broadcast rights (including the team) decide to black it out. Bottom line.. my guess is you'd get something in the neighborhood of 68-76 Wings games. I wouldn't be afraid of going for the cable/satellite version. Learn2LuvIt 252 Report post Posted September 25, 2009 I have gotten the NHL Package before...and it's great. You'll be able to catch most of the games played nightly without blackout. My biggest reason for not re-newing this year is the lack of games in HD. Two years ago I made the leap and got a high quality HD tv. Watching the Wings (or any hockey for that matter) in HD is phenominal. Here's the thing....it's hard to go back and watch non-HD games...I've been spoiled. Even condidering the games in non-HD, with the Center Ice some of the video feeds are not that good. However, it is the BEST sport in the world, and I still enjoyed watching every night...it was just tough. I've heard that the NHL Network offers almost 75 games "most" in HD, plus 24/7 hockey programming. Not sure if this is an even trade off, and I have no experience with the NHL Network. Anyone??
