no they are not, ballard was in full control and hit hip to malkin's (who's legs were straight pretty much) thigh, that is a hipcheck, Scuderi's was a failed hip check, he made initial contact with his shoulder to chimera's knee. A ballard hipcheck on Malkin will always look low but what is Ballard supposed to do grow 5 inches magically when he goes to make a hipcheck so they dont appear low?

Scuderi's was the only one out of all 4 that I would consider dirty because of how low he went, the other 3 don't seem that bad at all.

I agree. The hit was wayyy too low.

Scuderi looked like he was getting up off of a toilet that was too low for him That was a hell of a low hit there. Surprised that all he got was a fine, but then, the Kings commentators did say that Scuderi does not have a reputation of dirty plays, so I guess the fine is okay be me.

BTW, why did Chimera get a misconduct penalty? Blood on his jersey? I don't understand that.

When I saw it, I wondered this exact thing. He got a penalty for being cut? I suppose he must've really irritated the refs.
