Rice 42 Report post Posted November 9, 2009 MLive: Holland said the club would not pursue Peter Forsberg, who is playing in Sweden and intends to sign with an NHL team. Even if the Red Wings were interested in Forsberg, he might not be interested in playing for them. The one-time Colorado star let it be known two years ago he wouldn't play for the Avalanche's one-time bitter rival. Detroit News: There's been some chatter on the internet hinting that the Red Wings were among the teams in Sweden this week to scout Peter Forsberg, who is healthy again and competing in the Karjala Cup tournament. The Wings may very well be scouting that tournament, but I just exchanged emails with Ken Holland and he very clearly said the team had no interest in Forsberg. Forsberg's agent Don Baizley was milling around outside the meeting area on Tuesday and chatted with a few GMs. Vancouver, Boston, Philadelphia and the New York Rangers have all publicly confirmed their interest. "I've made it known before -- a healthy Peter Forsberg, who wouldn't be interested?" said Flyers GM Paul Holmgren. "I don't know that he's healthy. I know he played (with) those guys over there, we had a couple guys there watching." ...
