VanDer 58 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 Ok so i want to buy a Red Wings jersey but i have no idea what size i would need. I have searched alot online and i have seen numbers of different measurements for different sizes which has just confussed me even further. Can someone please explain it for me maybe, if possible compare them to soccer jerseys sizes, make it abit easier for me
Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 (edited) I am about 6'1 160lbs and I wear either a Medium or Large replica jersey. The new reebok edge ones seem to fit me better in medium, but I have an old CCM one from 1991 that claims its large, yet fits like a modern medium. If you are buying numbered sizes (48, 50, 52, etc) take a look at the NHL.com sizing chart, it has measurements and regular equivalents to give you an idea on the sizing. 50 is right for me, depending on if I am just wearing it with a hoodie underneath, or actually putting it over pads. http://shop.nhl.com/product/index.jsp?prod...dy_bestsell_txt youll find it there under the "Select Your Size" tab. Edit - best thing to do, even if you are buying online,is to go to a local store (though in Ireland that may be difficult) and try on the sizes. Its hard to compare to soccer shirts, just cause I personally like my soccer jerseys to fit like a t-shirt does, whereas hockey jerseys look funny if they fit like a regular shirt. Oh, and if you are ordering one of these rip off jerseys from China, size 50 to them is XXL for some reason...its very strange every jersey ive order size 50, its been way way too big. Jake Ryan 1 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 44,46 if you wear a medium 48,50 if you wear a large 52,54 if you wear an extra large 56,58 if you wear a double extra large The first size will fit well, and the 2nd size will fit really loose.

I am just under 6' around 160lbs so going by your advice medium would be best for me. Unfortunitly around where i live stores that sell hockey jerseys are pretty much impossible to find if they're is any at all. 44,46 if you wear a medium 48,50 if you wear a large 52,54 if you wear an extra large 56,58 if you wear a double extra large The first size will fit well, and the 2nd size will fit really loose. I take it this is compared with soccer jerseys yea? Edit- btw does any know any good sites that sell hockey jerseys to Ireland for small shipping price? Jake Ryan 1 Report post Posted November 30, 2009 NO on the soccer jerseys. Soccer jerseys are usually one size too small. I was giving a comparison to an American T-Shirt or jacket size. Soccer jerseys are one size under that, or sometimes 1 and 1/2 to 2. You get an XL soccer jersey if you wear a large American T-shirt. I ordered an Italy soccer jersey in 94 and got it in XL because that's what I wear. When I put it on, my nipples were making indentations in the jersey and my biceps and neck were stretching the holes horribly. I guess soccer jerseys are made for Euros wearing their clothes tight. It's not really the shipping you have to worry about but you could get caught by customs and have to pay a large fee to have the jersey released by Irish customs. The best way is to ship to it someone you know in the US or Canada and have them send it onto you clearly labeled as a gift.
