Here is a excerpt from my insider acct rumor mill:

Halak demanded a trade because he wants to be a starter, but since then, he has played so well that he has essentially been the No. 1 goalie in Montreal over Carey Price. Other teams rumored to be interested are the St. Louis Blues and Detroit Red Wings, but both teams seem to have stable goalie situations.

I'd do it. Ozzie won't be young forever and it'd be nice to have a starter quality guy who we can fall back on if Howard doesn't work out. If he does, ship him. The key is, he makes under a mil. That's gold.

Halak wouldn't be a starter in Detroit, and it says he wants to be a starter, so no Halak.

Halak would be the best goaltender in Detroit, so it would be a good move to make him the starter. Better to wait and see if DRW can sign Hiller or Rinne in the offseason. Schneider or Salak would be worth a look, too.
