Todd Bertuzzi, Power Forward

I'm impressed by the Wings having fixed him. If only he could have been useful in the playoffs last year. Instead he took two dumb penalties that cost the Flames two games.

Bertuzzi still takes too many penalties but it's nice to see he is putting the puck in the net. Also, Bert has a nice chemistry with Dats and Z.

I would haved considered him a power forward if he had smashed Ott's face in today.

He didn't, therefore he is not a power forward.

I think of a power forward a someone with size, drives the net, soft hands, and an ability to score. Fighting is a bonus.

Now an enforcer is someone who smashes in Ott's face for running all over the ice. An enforcer we do not have. We had one, and we let him go.

Something's switched on in him. He's definitely putting his head down and charging/cutting toward the net. And it's working.

PS... what's with these ads with sound... they got me in pretty big trouble in the middle of a lecture at school. haha.

Bert looked goood tonight. He might be too innept at hockeyfighting to be a true powerforward, but he's not nothing.

Bertuzzi and Franzen are not power forwards. The last forward before Abby, that even came close to leading this team in hits was Datsyuk. If using your body to protect the puck is now being a "Power forward" than was Jagr the greatest power forward of all time? Or Forsberg?

Bertuzzi and Franzen very rarely actually hit anyone or fight for that matter unless they're severely pissed off. Bertuzzi's case is understandable, Franzen not so much.

Bert probably doesn't fight because he doesn't want to risk getting hurt. Being an injury prone player, Bert probably does all he can to avoid possible injury, especially now considering his age.

Bert never foughto oten, and after reviewing the scraps he has been in, I suspect it's because he isn't very good at it.
