Datsyuk2Zetterberg 1 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 On top of his game, so lundy or broduer. Vokunn and Luongo should also get consideration.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 I'd take Tim Thomas before I took Tomas Vokoun.

Guest Lidstromboli Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Oh hey, how's it going? I'm just here facing the most shots in the league while putting up .931 SV%, with a GAA of 2.33 and 7 shutouts. Did you see that I play for FLORIDA? Haha, what a joke. I wish I was as good as Tim Thomas.
Wombat 26 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Maybe I'll be the first one to admit to voting for Miller. I think if you want to win 1 game right now, he's the pick. Brodeur definitely has the best career of the list, and is still great, but I don't think he's the top guy anymore. Since '01/'02, Brodeur has only won 2 games in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Sure, he hasn't had the greatest team, and I think his coaches ride him too hard in the regular season so he's worn out in the postseason, but I can't vote for a goalie to be the best right now if he has only 2 playoff series wins in the past 7 seasons. Ryan Miller, while missing the playoffs the past two years (with extremely flawed teams in front of him), at least has 4 series wins in his 4 full seasons in the NHL, and is playing great this year. Ok ok ok, point taken on the Vokoun thing lol...as i said last night i wavered on putting him on or not...I do not undervalue him whatsoever but i didn't think people would vote for him given the other names on the list ( as it appears others such as Ward and Thomas shouldn't have made the cut either). However I am impressed that so many of you follow a low market goalie close enough to stick up for him on this topic, it's good to see so many true NHL (and not just Wings fans) on this site! I hereby ceremonially add Vokoun to this list.. and award him the 5 or so votes that some of you apparently would like to award him

Brodeur's teams have been stellar. The system they have in place there is second only to us.
zettie85 106 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 It was a hard choice between Brodeur and Kipper but I ultimately went with Kipper. I watch the guy night in and night out and he is just amazing. He doesn't get the credit he deserves. His team has been suspect since the cup run and his numbers have always been good except one year when they were really bad. Marty is great but always has a very good team in front of him. Very defencive system in Jersey. If they don't have those types of teams does he break records? I don't know. All I can say is that Kipper has absolute raw talent to mind that goal and he is far and away my favorite goalie in the league with his style of play. As much as it is too early to judge, if I was to base Jimmy's style on any goalie out their it would be somewhat similar to Kipper.I like that.
Rick Zombos Ghost 82 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 on a better team. Craig Anderson would crack the top 10.

akustyk 84 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 the main poll question is "a goalie to win you one single game". I'd go with Kipper as he's better at that right now IMHO. and Ward is not a bad goalie. now Flurry... this guy can steal you a game, sure, but he can also blow out badly right when you don't want him to. anyone recall Tommy Salo's career end? you get the point
