Guest Shoreline Report post Posted February 10, 2010 Nothing wrong with this hit. Salmela was making a hockey move to the net to score, Carter was making a hockey move to prevent him from doing so. It was only "late" in the fact that Salmela got his shot off, but one can't stop the check from happening when it is that close -- it's just not possible. It wasn't a hit to the head, nor was it dirty, it was from one shoulder to the other. Salmela put himself in a prone position making a move to the net and got hit for it. However, he scored a goal so imo Salmela was victorious here, and good for him for moving around before being wheeled off.
