How does "I'm not going to be fully hopeful because if I do, I'll be more disappointed than if I hadn't" equate to 'realistic'? That statement says absolutely nothing about being 'realistic'. All it speaks of is avoiding disappointment. This, too, ignores the fact that 'realistic' holds no place when it comes to hope in this situation. What do you have to lose (besides risking disappointment) by being hopeful?

The Wings WILL make the playoffs. And why am I so sure? Cause we're going to be as healthy as ever. And we're the ******* MIGHTY DETROIT RED WINGS!!!! It wouldn't be the playoffs without us! From what I saw in the Olympics, it was good to see Franzen skating hard. It was also good to see Rafalski play some inspired hockey. Heck, even Filppula looked good. Datsyuk certainly did not look out of place.

I am starting to think more positive on this last stretch of the season. the trade deadline is also right upon us... who knows, maybe Kenny can make a subtle addition to help spark our cause!

I'd be really surprised to see the Wings make a move by the deadline. The Wings' deadline deal was putting Maltby on the LTIR.
