toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted April 23, 2010 Serious question here, I know they review goals after the games to make sure the scoring was accurate (see Crosby's supposed 50th changed to Guerin), but do they also review for if they got the assists right? This relates to Crosby as well, love him or hate him (I'm in between), I had to pick him for my pool as I felt PIT would go to the conference finals, so I figured he'd pick up some points. In any event, last night, he should have had an assist on a goal, but assists went to Guerin and Malkin. Crosby passed to Malkin and Malkin passed across, went through Guerin's legs (whiffed on a shot....didn't touch the puck at all) and Letang got it and shot it in. I suspect they only review to make sure they got the goal scorer correct and if that changes, obviously those getting assists will change, but they don't specifically make sure the assists are correct. If I lose my pool by 1pt, I'll be pissed (I'm currently tied for the lead.....I know, way too early to be looking at the standings).
Blueliner 69 Report post Posted April 23, 2010 A petition can be sent into the league for a review on goals and assists. It happened last year when Datsyuk was close to 100 points. He didn't get an assist on a goal, but the Wings sent a tape to the league for review and Datsyuk was eventually awarded an assist on the goal.
