Pat 44 Report post Posted May 9, 2010 (edited) Just looked at an Mlive article... and NHL general managers are under the impression next year's cap will come in at approximately $58 million if, as expected, the NHLPA triggers the five-percent inflator. That means the summer cap will be approximately $63.8 million What does that mean, that we can go over the cap 5.8m? link: http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2010/05/sunday_scuttlebutt_on_the_sala_2.html Edited May 9, 2010 by Pat

cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted October 6, 2010 From TSN: It could be a very busy day in the NHL despite no games being played on the ice on North American soil.Teams have until 3pm et/Noon pt on Wednesday to submit their opening day roster to the league and all teams must be under the league's mandated $59.4 million salary cap at that time. Currently, teams may be up to 10 percent over the cap as they make their final cuts, but they will be penalized should they remain over the number come Wednesday afternoon. The Vancouver Canucks, New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins and Calgary Flames are all over the cap and will may be forced to make a deal to shed salary prior to the deadline. ...
