MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted May 10, 2010 The Columbus Blue Jackets have been granted permission to speak with Detroit Red Wings assistant Paul MacLean about their vacant head coaching position.Red Wings general manager Ken Holland confirmed Monday that he had been asked by his Columbus counterpart, Scott Howson, and that he believed the interview would take place on Tuesday. I say if MacLean leaves, even if he doesn't, fire McCrimmon and get Larionov in here, if he'll come. He would be groomed to be the next Head Coach after Babcock is gone. If both McCrimmon and MacLean are gone, I dunno who we could get, Chelios maybe? But Larionov would be rock solid on the bench, one of the best hockey minds ever... I've had the opportunity to watch him coach for over 10 years, most of those were in the UHL for the Quad City Mallards and they won a few championships for him. I used to give him s*** because Quad City were our top rival and my seasons seats were behind the home bench. Everytime he came onto the ice for the next period, I'd stand up and bark and clap like a Walrus because of his mustache. After awhile I think he expected it and was genuinely amused by it so he'd always point or wave at me. Class act guy, I just had to give him the hard time for the mustache LOL. I really hope we don't lose him because he has a great offensive mind, as Quad City almost always led in offensive categories. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
