I think that this off-season will be similar to last off-season

Remember last off-season!? Hossa, gone. Hudler, gone. Sammy, gone. No cap-space. Completely screwed. And then, whoa, Eaves, former 20g scorer for half a mil. Probably done. Then, whoa, Willy, for next to nothing. Definitely done. Then, again, whoa, Bertuzzi, for next to nothing.

This off-season, I think it will be very, very similar...but we will be adding toughness out of nowhere as opposed to trying to add scoring out of nowhere. I'm guessing that we add three players, a third line grinder (could be Bert...but I'm starting to doubt it), a fourth line grinder, and a grinding 6th/7th defensemen. All three will be cheap. All three will be relatively under the radar. All three will be typical Red Wing types - good players that are willing to take less to be part of our program.

No sense guessing who these guys will be, as none of us - just like last off-season - have any idea.

I agree. I don't know if it'll be three players but I see at least two players being added at some point.

And, per usual, they will be under the radar and will probably have great seasons for the Wings. We're lucky like that.

I think Bert will be re-signed, and as much as I like him and value what he brings, he's the biggest question mark.

Sorry, but if you said "WHOA!" and was excited about Jason Williams, I really feel sorry for you. About the next to nothing part, Eaves was next to nothing, picking up Miller off waivers was next to nothing, $1.5M for Jason Williams was a waste of money. Could've had Manny Malhotra (who wanted to come here) for $700,000. For 14 goals and 33 points, THAT'S next to nothing, comparing that to Bertuzzi's 18 goals and 44 points, even THAT was a waste of $1.5M!

Malhotra 6'2" 220lbs, sure sounds like a forward we could've used. But we spent double on Williams...

So last off season blew in my book, hopefully there are a couple of WHOAS! this off season... BTW Malhotra is a UFA again, how about a nice next to nothing contract for him?
