Everyone's favorite hockey writer, Pierre LeBrun, wrote a pretty cool piece about Babcock. Some of it we've all read before, but it's still a nice read.

DETROIT -- Flash back to the spring of 2002. Mike Babcock is the head coach of the AHL's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, a shared farm club of both Anaheim and Detroit.

"I remember he had come up to watch us play in the first round against Vancouver," Red Wings GM Ken Holland recalled Tuesday. "He was cocky.
