Guest The Axe Report post Posted March 4, 2013 Am I the only one who thinks the Red Wings need to learn how to just ice the puck when they are getting pressed? I get the whole concept of puck possession and not being able to change your guys, but the Wings do a lot of stupid things that get them in worse trouble (penalties) instead of sending it down and catching their breath. What gives?
beachwing 426 Report post Posted March 4, 2013 This basic fundamental on its own cost us 4 games this year. Factor in all the the energy we have to expend to cover this mistake and without question is taking away offensive energy as well. Today it cost us the game! We ALWAYS try to make everything so ******* perfect, cute and precise.... Quincey just should have wheeled that puck rather than pivot and look for a spot! LeftWinger 4,963 Report post Posted March 4, 2013 Quincey's play wouldn't have been icing though...it was a PK. But ya, instead of trying to bury it, he could have flicked it up high. Of course on TV it's an easy play, but on the ice, in the moment, Q was probably just thinking get this down the ice as hard as possible.... OMG....did I just defend Quincey? jollymania 162 Report post Posted March 4, 2013 The wings iced the puck way too much today, though i thought some of the calls were ticky-tack.
