bringbackfontez 36 Report post Posted January 4, 2017 Long has been the norm for both teams and leagues to commemorate anniversary seasons with a patch located somewhere on the jersey/sweater. Although I think the logo used for the NHL's 100th anniversary is fantastic, the league's decision for all teams to place the patch on the sleeve below the number is absolutely terrible. It looks like a jumbled mess. I believe the left side of the chest, opposite the captain/alternate letter would look so much better. It's even worse for goaltender uni's. In the most glaring example, the Jackets wore their navy blue alternate sweaters last night against the Oilers. Check out Bobrovsky's patch that splits the white accent trim. What a nightmare. Just not a very clean look. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
NerveDamage 4,176 Report post Posted January 4, 2017 had they gone the way you propose, it would be a mess in our jersey as well, don't forget we're honouring Howe this season. I don't like it either but since some teams do have crests or logo's as shoulder patches, I bet that's the only compromise they could come up with. I'd rather have them on the back right on top of the name, instead of the reebok logo, since a reference to the brand is already all over the jersey.
