#2609455 Dylan Larkin turning pro... will play for GR immediately

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 21 May 2015 - 02:06 PM

At times Helm was a force to reckon with in the post season...He's finally turning into the player that we had hoped he'd become, but then again - as bad as it sounds - maybe his trade value is at a all time high, and what we get in return will fill a few holes?

I doubt he can fetch a lot ... A 2nd + a mid level if were really lucky? He's mostly a bottom 6 guy who can fill In and play top 6 ... And he's a playoff guy who we can never have enough of

In my eyes when zetts 40 and gone (unless he pulls a jagr and keeps performing well enough to play on and on ) helm and abdelkader will be the team leaders to help carry the next wave of wings stars

Basically he will at least be in the AHL come fall. Hoping he makes the Wings roster though. He showed he can play important minutes against high end talent already. Would love to see him get a shot centering the third line.

I just wanna see him develop into a 60-80 pt guy and just don't want us to get all excited and rush him in and go against our ways ... Thinking 1 year ahl is good enough for him to learn .... We'll see what he does in the playoffs

Larkin mantha athanasiou line would be sick

Helm to Toronto?
Larkin 3rd line c?!?!?!
This is the only thing I can think of that would make a trade matter for Larkin.

Helm isn't going anywhere , seriously doubt it he can play the wing as well and has a ton of speed

Tell Babs when he comes calling for glendening to pay up a 1st or take a hike lol

#2608296 Babcock granted permission to talk to other teams

Given that Babcock is calling other teams I'm thinking he was set on leaving detroit and was surprised no one was asking to talk to him

Personally hope we just move on and give Blashill a shot

Truth. The franchise is sitting in a very good position because of Holland and Babs. I just don't get the whole "needing a fresh face" when the roster has almost completely turned over in the last 3 years. It's not like it has been the same roster for 10 years. Also, after watching that TSN interview, it is sounding like he is leaning towards staying. Seems like he just wants to talk it over with family once he gets back from the World Championships.

If babs stays will I be upset? No ... I won't be in an uproar for him coming back ... My preference is we go a different route , preferably with jeff Blashill

My personal opinion is he's a good coach but overrated ... Those gold medals for me don't count as the teams were stacked full of all star players

From 2010-2015 we haven't done anything in the playoffs and we had hank and pav from ages 29-35? ... It's not like there career was done and over with

And as for the franchise sitting pretty I'd put that more on holland for not panicking and trading away top prospects and out scouting staff for always refilling the prospect pool with real good talent

Players will always escape the top 10 in drafts that will be stars in the nhl ... We just have to find them

I believe in our scouts

I agree with this but his post was basically stating Sheahan is the superior player right now. Just had to set it straight that it's not the case.
The way I see it is Z can't center a line anymore. he needs to just focus on playing wing. Soderberg isn't some scrub, he's a useful NHL player that could help us in the 2nd line center spot imo, more so then Sheahan right now. With half decent linemates (he played 3rd line in Boston) I think he can get 50+ points and play a solid two way game.
This all depends on Salary and term but for 2-3 years at 4 - 4.5 million I don't see how you say no. Ship out Weiss and Anderson, LTIR Franzen. Sign Petry / Franson.
Z - D - Abby
Nyquist - Soderberg - Tatar
Pulk - Sheahan - Jurco / Helm
Miller - Glen - Jurco / Helm

If we don't sign soderberg or anyone top 3 lines

Zetterberg datsyuk abdelkader
Pulkkinen sheahan Tatar
Nyquist helm jurco
? Glendening Ferraro

The ? On the 4th line is if we could add a big bodied 4th liner who can just hit and bruise opponents that's what I'd love to add but I don't see it happening .... And I just noticed we both dont have Franzen , although his future is uncertain

Looking above I could totally see us trading nyquist in a trade for a top dman and we'd still be ok upfront and still have youth

Dominic turgeon 6'2

Christoffer ehn 6'2

Julius vahatalo 6'5

Anthony mantha 6'5

Zach nastasiuk 6'2

David pope 6'3

Andreas athanasiou 6'2

Marek tvrdon 6'2

Louis marc Aubry 6'4

We got some big boys ....not against adding any forwards if they were to good to pass up ... Just noticed we drafted 4 dmen in the last 3 years ... We need to draft 4 dmen in this years draft alone

The Detroit Red Wings first round pick in 2014 was one of the top players in the NCAA this season not named Jack Eichel. Playing for his hometown team, the University of Michigan Wolverines, Dylan Larkin and Zach Hyman formed a formidable scoring duo, combining for 101 points between them, with Larkin scoring 15 goals and adding 32 assists in 35 games. His strengths include his skating and playmaking abilities, assets which came to the forefront during the 2015 World Junior Championship, where Larkin led the Americans in scoring with five goals in five games. Larkin suited up for the United States during the IIHF World Championship, but is still eligible to play up to three more seasons in the NCAA. It is likely, however, that he plays no more than one more season.

Don't know about andrei vasilevsky being number 2

Athanasiou and mantha will dominate together next season together ... Mantha just turned 20 , missed camp , coming into a new league ... People need to relax ... It's way too soon to say mantha is a bust and won't recover

You can teach someone how to play better defensively and commit to eating healthier and training but you can't teach someone to score

He bounces back ... in 2-4 yrs if the hockey gods smile upon us and they all reach there potential we can have a pulkkinen mantha athanasiou larkin bertuzzi holmstrom natasiuk in the lineup

And that's not even including nosek and outsiders like frk tvrdon if they get there s*** together .... If we have to trade someone to get a dman I'd rather part with a nyquist/Tatar then any of the 7 I mentioned

And jurco hasn't done much thus far but he's still 21-22 ... Think he needs to get more opportunities on the ppl and with better players, he's got too much talent to be a checker

I read this and was shocked the sproul was anywhere near this list.

Ya same , still too soon to give up on sproul though ... Next year will be huge in determining his nhl future

#2607216 What's our draft position this year? And best defensemen available

He's not a defensemen but svechnikov intrigues me

Mrazek's going to be star. Maybe even a super one. And that's going to win this team a lot of games.

And cups ... You forgot to add cups :)

Been saying it since last year he reminds me of hasek at times ...we got a future hasek in our hands :)

Just imagine what the wings would of done with hasek in his prime , could of won another 2-3 cups?

Now if Babcock can't see how amazing mrazek will be .... With a Tatar nyquist dekeyser now and guys like athanasiou larkin holmstrom mantha bertuzzi coming and see the potential then just f*** him

People talk about Edmonton cause of mcdavid but they'll never get in the playoffs until they get a goalie and now ones gonna trade them a star goalie

#2606815 ECSF : (4) Washington Capitals vs. (1) New York Rangers

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 08 May 2015 - 08:34 PM

Man thank Christ we didn't trade for overrated yandle .... Ekman larsson was the only one worth going for and phoenix won't deal him

Rangers are gonna kick themselves for giving up all that for yandle

I can't believe how rangers can't even score any goals ... It's f***en crazy
