Chicago's reasoning to getting rid of sharp was to get rid of money , yet they somehow have to pay 25% of his salary and added like 5 million with the trade ... Surprised they just didn't wait it out and see if they could find a taker in a month or so
This guarantees johnny oduya is a goner now ... Should we get rid of Quincey or smith to add oduya on a one year deal of possible?
Holland is on a streak, 4.75 for a player entering prime? This will be a major steal in hindsight if nyquist can keep up his goal scoring and get used to playoff hockey.
Upwards of 5 mill and 6 million my a**
I think we both got a fair deal ... He had what ? 2 27 goal seasons ? I think 4.75 is more than fair , wouldn't call it a steal
Just think the other gm's throwing 7.5 per at the ryan o'reillys of the league are f***en morons
Hate ken holland all you will for not making more deals and so on, but he'll never over pay someone
If Gus was asking for 7 per he'd be gone
Ericsson. The guy is overpaid. Not sure there'd be any takers. Then next year KFQ and Richards are off the books. That's over $10M in space with those 3.
0% chance Ericsson gets dealt ... I know a lot of people here hate him but we don't have guys his size in the back
I get your argument but saying he's 3rd in playoff points and played 100 games less than #2. Who is a defenseman is odd, defenseman aren't supposed to put up the kind of points lids did, that's why he was so special among other things.
But yes please retire #91 soon
I get your point, and no argument on lidstrom he's amazing but just stating a fact the guy played 100 less games than the 2nd place lidstrom and still ended 3rd all time and if he played just another 2-3 years before leaving he'd probably be the redwings all time playoff points leader
He just deserves to get his jersey raised , one of the best redwing players of all time
Paetsch? How do you play hockey from prison? The only way marchenko isn't with the RW's is if we still have both KFQ and Kindl. using him in PO games last year should tell us all what the RW's think about him and his development.
BTW this was just a means of showing the depth and talent we have. Yes some guys could go to Juniors. IIRC Turgeon signed a pro contract and can't go back to junior anymore. Svech can as of today. But there are some funny rules between the NHL/CHL/AHL etc....
Lmao forgot about the gambling stuff ... I'll change it up ... As for marchenko sadly I do believe he I'll start with the griffins , trust me I'd much rather have him in detroit
Svechnikov will stay in the juniors , pretty sure I read that somewhere and as for turgeon can't say I'm 100% certain but I do believe he'll go back Down for his last year with portland
I see zero chance Quincey gets dealt ... I'd personally rather trade kindl/smith right now and give ouellet marchenko some games
Kids are gonna have to get in some games , Quincey will probably be gone after this season , and when some kids are ready to step up and take a bigger role I'd expect Ericsson to be the next to be gone
Blues need a goalie like Crawford. Makes the big saves when they need it but is okay when untested for the majority of the game. This is Howard's weakness. If he's not getting action chances are he'll give up some untimely, bad goals. But on the other hand he can be phenomenal when we're being badly outplayed
Oh I'd trade howard in a heartbeat and sign a veteran goalie or trade for one
Not looking at the lineup and prospects but I'd consider something like
Oh look after the ridiculous Mantha hype now it's Larkin .. This team isn't going anywhere so why not let him get used to the pro game in the ahl and call him up for a few games here and there
Best of luck to Weiss
I got high hopes for larkin but I agree , unless it's a bonfide star rookie I always prefer they start down for one year ... Let's see how larkin does there , if he dominates the game in all aspects and has like 55 pts in 50 games let's say then I'm all for giving him a call up and see what happens
But I think he needs to start down and dominate with the other kids
Boston is on the verge of some tough times. I don't understand what they are doing at all. I get that they have to shed salary, but why Hamilton? I mean, good for us that Boston becomes a weaker team. But I guess firing their previous GM did nothing to change trading away their youth.
It's just ridiculous , Couldnt they of just made a qualifying offer and try to resign him longterm during the season ?
Seidenberg, smith,Marchand, lucic are all guys they could of gotten rid of instead
I'd imagine we would definitely go with protecting only Mrazek in goal if they go about the expansion draft in a similar manner. Is it just unprotected main roster players that are up for draft? It would be garbage if they could poach players from junior and GR as well. I'd rather they just get thrown in with the basement dwelling teams for draft lottery day than to get a s*** at poaching other franchise's prospects.
Ya I'm pretty sure ahl players are out of the question
