#2504423 Around The League - Eastern Conference Playoff Race

Posted by SimonSin on 01 April 2014 - 06:12 PM

Just giving you guys a heads up They're showing NHL Center Ice for free, I'm assuming for the whole week. I've had center ice every year for the past 6 except this one. I have comcast so the channels start at 771. Flipping through all the games right now. Go Stars, Avs and Flames!

Not so big games tonight but would definitely be useful if the Rangers, Flyers and Canadiens all lost.

Tuesday is obviously where the action is but main thing is we have to get 2 points in Columbus.

With the way the Leafs are going I don't see them beating the Blues, while Kings/Capitals is a toss up really.

Even though Helm didn't bleed, that looked like more than a minor high stick

I believe we will only see Nyquist for tonight. I think he is within 2 games of having to stay up or pass waivers to go back down. I don't think they want to keep him up yet and I highly doubt he would clear waivers. I may be wrong and hopefully someone with more knowledge on that stuff can chime in.

Go Wings!

Or if Cleary is signed after the season starts alfie will already have the number

Or if he never comes back at all....we won't have a problem:)

#2428577 Brunner Contract Talks

Posted by GMRwings1983 on 07 July 2013 - 04:41 PM

Why doesn't Holland just increase the offer by taking money away from that Cleary contract he was planning on burdening the team with?

I'd rather have Brunner for an overpayment than have him for 2.5, plus Cleary for whatever the hell he was offered.

Just say no to Cleary....not for 3 years, not for 2, not for 1 and not ever!  It's time to move on...

#2426060 Brunner Contract Talks

The moment Brunner fields his first call from another team he is gone IMO

July 5

Dallas signs Brunner 5 years/15 million.

July 6

Columbus signs Filppula 5 years/22.5 million.

July 6

Holland signs Cleary 4 years 12 million.

October 5

Holland says we like our team.

April 2

Holland says that if Bertuzzi, Sammy, Helm, Eaves, and Franzen can all get healthy, it will be like landing 5 UFA's.

May 14

The Red Wings get bounced by the Maple Leafs.

May 19

Holland announces his intentions to begin talks with Samuelsson and Ericsson.

July 5

Ericsson signs 5 year/25 million deal with San Jose.

July 6

Holland resigns Samuelsson 2 years/5 million.

#2425077 Wings buy out Colaiacovo, will keep Bertuzzi

I don't by any means think Jurco or Teemu are NHL ready...probably not even close. But they'd be a better option than a 3 mill Cleary. He skates like the Timbits at intermission, leaning on his stick for balance and falls over when grazed. I'm kind of done watching him play for Detroit.

Vinny at 4.5 was too steep but Cleary at $3 is OK.... got it Kenny

#2417108 Franzen Buyout?

Posted by stillwater on 02 June 2013 - 02:58 PM

Last three seasons:

Franzen lazy and bored floats air biscuits towards the net, shows up 25% of the season. Burrows gives 100% and actually tries to make plays....

So you'd prefer a guy who "tries to make plays" but succeeds less than the guy who is perceived to not be trying?

Those 25% and 100% ... is there any way to substantiate that, or is that just your perception?

I'll take the guy who puts up the numbers, you can have the guy who tries really, really hard ... perhaps someday the NHL will give out Participation Trophies and Burrows will get recognized for all that production while playing with, not one, but two of the NHL's perennial high scorers.

Posted by BottleOfSmoke on 04 May 2013 - 10:07 PM

which is a big help, since he shoots his fart-notes out the right side of his ass, much like Brunner and Sammy do

I <3 Brunner, but he was definitely first chair in the ass trumpet section tonight.  But so was everyone else, so I'll give the rookie a pass...

He gets excited and pees on the carpet sometimes.

Jimmy gets to the puck and sees whole team expecting a pass to the opposite blue line while fore checker is coming says f*** this team
