Probably because it's fans throwing things on the ice and it delays the game slightly. Plus it fires up the arena and the fans energy has the ability to fire up the team. I'm also guessing it has to do with Red Wings fans throwing it on the ice at other arenas.

I don't get the collapse by Philly. I understand it from the Nucks since their division was so garbage, but the Flyers were in a tough division and still came away with a great record albeit stumbling worse than a night with Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan going into the playoffs.

They didn't make Maltby retire. They re-signed him, other players beat him out for spots, they waived him so he could continue to play in the NHL, no one bit, they sent him to the AHL and he retired because he didn't want to play in the AHL. If someone would have claimed him, he would have played in the NHL. If they didn't want him back they wouldn't have re-signed him. Plus Mursak + Emmerton is no where near greater than Hudler + Draper. Mursak + Emmerton is better than Draper and Miller by far. I live in TC (directly across from Centre Ice lol), and have lived there for the past 15 years. My family also has a spot on Torch Lake.

I never said the team with the best goaltender, i said goaltending. Bryz is a better goaltender, nut we had the better goaltending that series by far.
