Seems like most of Moore's case is A) I would've made a ton of money playing hockey or being a lawyer or XYZ but the brain injury prevents all of these pursuits, and B) The head injury has caused pain and suffering. Both points require testimony and are inheritely subjective things. But I think Moore had to set the starting bid high expecting it'd get slashed down to something in the end.

What makes you guys so sure Legwand won't resign?

Weiss was a huge signing, it just doesn't seem like it because... well... he's done nothing here, either when he was playing or not. 2012-13 was bad.

It's funny how Eaves is barely in the discussion. It's like we all forgot about him and shrugged at the "totally mediocre" hockey player being sent away. I agree that Eaves was mediocre, but I wonder if Nashville liked the idea of Eaves equally as much as the idea of a prospect + pick. He does seem to fit Nashville's play style. And maybe Wings fans see Eaves as overtly middle-of-the-road because we have so many explosive young kids ready to bloom. He was a hard-worker with the potential to score 10-15 goals a season... not much less than Legwand. And he's a lot younger, too. Still, I'll bet we'll see that Legwand has a lot more skill than Eaves come Thursday night.

What if Bertuzzi loses to, say, 6m? Surely he doesn't have 6m's hanging out. And with his career nearly over is he going to be homeless or working at the thrifty?

Considering Franzen's year as-a-whole, it's probably not terrible news for the team that he isn't skating. As an individual it's awful he is still sidelined and I would never have wished it on him or anybody else.

I love both. Really tough decision. I'd go with Andersson because Sheahan has not had enough time to prove to me that he will maintain. Andersson is solid and should stay solid. Of course if Sheahan keeps playing like he has recently, he has more potential than Andersson ever will. I think Andersson is quite under-rated and just happens to be a perfect player for his role (3rd/4th line center with speed/grinding/PK).
