The Montreal http://twitter.com/#!/search/%23Canadiens'>#Canadiens have agreed to a sign and trade involving PK Subban. Subban will be dealt to the http://twitter.com/#!/search/%23RedWings'>#RedWings for Filppula and Tatar. Rumor Per Insiders (possibly Dreger), What do you think? This was meant to be in the rumor section, I apologize for misposting it in the main section.

Because Tootoo made things any better last night. They didn't lose because they were out hit, they lost because they got out played in every way conceivable.
-
You can chalk it up to aliens, doesnt mean they didn't get their ass handed to them.

So, if this is any indication of how bad the Wing's D is, how long will this season be?
-
With Holland already in damage control mode about the Wings possibly not making the playoffs, I think 7-9 is the safest bet for the Wing's landing spot.

The Axe: First please use proper spelling and grammar, your post was torture to read. As for the content: Mule is a tale of two players, one that is unstoppable, the other I'm 99% sure smokes pot under the bleachers before each shift.

So what is the realistic cap situation for NHL teams? Should the Wings be expecting any bargains to hit the market?

http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/8817955/nhl-nhlpa-reach-tentative-agreement-source-says ESPN is reporting it, since they are so deaf to hockey, its got to be a good sign that they are saying it. -
After a slow start this season his last 14 games he's been ppg and has 5g 5a in the last 7 games. He has been on a couple lines that have been anemic when it comes to scoring (Rask not having a point in over 20 games until today).
-
Actually just look at the ex-Wings that will be available and make lines accordingly.
-
How many times do I have to tell you, the Wings increasingly anemic powerplay is their enforcer.
-
Emmerton because he's below replacement level in most categories. And Abdelkader because his favorite hobbies are taking stupid penalties in the playoff, and disappearing in the third period/OT.
-
Basically this. This summer was Holland's hens coming to roost. Had this been unexpected, or taken within a vacuum this summer was a B-/C+, taken in light of all other details its a D.

Come back ala Jagr 2.0? I'm calling it now.

Disagree with this, the only time Sammy has had a season as good as Hudler is when he was playing with the Sedins. Sammy is a downgrade, hes older, slower, and has less talent around him compared to the past. So, they lost depth at top-6 forward (in my mind), and lost depth in top-4 d-men. As for Quincey being better than Stuart, offensively yes, defensively, I would give the edge to Stuart.
-
Lost too much depth to be an A off season, its a D+/C- off season.

Missing Wings This Fall (anyone heard anything on Franzen yet?)

He's trying to find some fun, since hockey doesn't cut it. -
For us who aren't following the CBA discussions religiously anyone want to give us the cliff-notes?

I don't ever see Helm being captain... hes not a face of the franchise like Z is. I see after Z it probably being Smith or if he lasts a lot of year someone like Jarnkrok.
-
A third line center and a fourth line winger who plays center because theres no one to replace him. Also they are nice to have, but essentially replaceable, I can see Helm going down to fourth line center in a couple seasons when Jarnkrok comes to the NHL.
-
Helm is a career 3rd line center, and Abby will eventually either find a role or price himself out of Detroit.
-
Too many years and too much money for an old man on the downside of his career. Glad he said no to the Wings.
-
He must be kidding, but really glad he didn't sign that contract.
-
Too much in my mind, he still takes too many boneheaded penalties, his offense is easily replaced by others with a lower cap hit, and his defense is suspect in key situations.
