This signing is interesting and very unexpected.... For those that hate Tootoo, think back to when we signed Chelios. I hated him! He was a dirty player but when he became a Red Wings my hate left pretty quickly, This could be the same type of thing and he will add some of the grit we need.

Hey, I know you are entitled to your opinion... hate him if will but did you watch him play at all? He was solid all around. Having White at #2 is a pretty safe option I think. As other have said, unless White was part of a package deal bringing in some big replacement parts trading him would be insane. Even if Schultz decided to sign and he earned a spot then half our D would basically be rookie's or noobs... how would that fill the gaping wounds left by Lids and Stuarts leaving and adding White to that?

I first noticed White when he played against us in San Jose and thought he was a great little player. When we poicked him up I was so happy, I think White has been a fantastic addition. Low cost, high energy, gives his all, safe and for a small guy he plays bigger then some of our big guys... yes I'm looking at you Ericsson "The friendly giant". Trading White would be a dumb and pointless move imo.

So instead of pointing this out in the media after they were dropped in the 1st round why didn't he try to change this by his play on the ice?

Deflection + Excuse! At least when Hoss wasn't scoring he still gave his all and played great defensively. If Mule isn't scoring he is a waste of quality ice time. If he wants to have more fun show him clips of past Wings teams winning the Cup!

...few people know that before he became a coach that Trotz was in fact Ram Man! Anyway, Always liked Trotz. He's stuck with his team all this time and that shows a lot. Classy thing for him to say to the greatest Defenseman of all time.

Babcock calls out Kenny, sort of.... and rightfully so!!! It is time to make some significant changes. Our power play did not work as our enforcer or as our trade deadline addition. Our philosophy that has worked so well for so long has got to evolve and with it some changes in the roster are required. There are few forward I would consider safe (Dats, Z, Helm, Nyquist). All others I would have to re-evaluate their role in our new scheme and consider moving or not signing them if they don`t fit in. Defense is looking fine to me and Jimmy needs a real backup... maybe even a youngin that will eventually compete for the #1 role with him. Finally our new assistant coaches better figure out how to make the special teams special again or I would send them packing! Its not dooms day and the whole of the team doesn't need to be gutted but Holland has to see things for what they really are. The team we have now (actually since our game 7 loss to the pens) does not have all the ingredients and the proof is in the pudding. We need some play off players and we need to be rid of these players we are waiting year after year to finally step up and play consistently to their potential... The Hudler's and Filpula's have taken small steps when we needed them to take big steps. And Lang.. er' I mean Franzen?! Come on man! I'm hoping for an active off season and a re-vamped and re-engergized team in 2012/2013.

How many pp's have we seen with zero shots on net? Really? At times the other team seems to have giants on the ice covering more space then a normal human should. Which ever coach is designing our power plays better start fixing things and fast.

This is a tight series that will be decided by special teams play more then anything. 4 ppg's on 80 chances is NOT good enough. I too am sick of the 8 million passes and shot from places that have little chance of getting in. Had our Power Play been better I think we could have won any/all of the games we've lost so far.

I agree with you man. Holland is a master but he's also made some really crappy choices imo. Trading down in the draft to get Landon Feraro and lose a big tough kid in Carter Ashton pissed me right off. Trading a 1st round pick that could have gotten us Downie but instead brought back Quincey? Why? We need to toughen this roster up with good North American boys.

What crap are you talking here? Are you inventing a conspiracy for Bettman that has him having NA player target skilled european players and taking them out of the game with headshots? Give me a break. North American play off hockey is a rough tough sport.... if a player can't handle the heat, be he Euro, Chinese or whatever, then he should go play ringette or patty-a-cake or something! The dirty s*** needs to be penalized, and Shanny is doing just that, but it will never be completely removed because of the speed, intensity and emotion in the game.

Right, let's get rid of the best coach in the league because the players on the ice have no heart, don't play full games, take stupid penalties and can't score for stretches (especially on the power play). He needs some fresh players on his bench that WILL hear him. Babs is a proven winner, tweak the roster leave Babs alone. Maybe ***** slap which ever coach is responsible for the power play and threaten his job!

LOL... Hilarious! Mule has become Robert Lang. A big strong guy that has the ability to be a Power Forward but chooses not to be one. I just don't get it.
