Wow. All of us who are not Packer fans should take a screen shot of the standings. It will probably never happen again this season.

I probably have, but not to the point that I'm sitting here thinking, "Oh Wow! I can't believe I did that." I drank lemonade without vodka last night, and I got to talking at the church potluck and didn't help with the dishes. Those are the only two things that come to mind. For the record, they are totally unrelated. The person below me usually helps with the dishes.

I'm really good at quite a few things and if you can live on them, you'll be fed well. Funny thing: we had a potluck at church today and I didn't have time to make anything so I picked up a couple bags of chips. One of the ladies got there and was excited to see what I brought because she said I always make such good stuff. <sigh> Should have gotten the lead out and made those deviled eggs I was planning on. The person below me is at least part Italian.

I feel you may be right, but it boggles the mind that adults can sit around a table and say, "I don't want someone else to have more than me, so I'm going to make sure that we both get zero." A cranky four-year-old who needs a nap, maybe, but a group of adults? Oh, heavens. It's going to be a long year.

That's a very nice memorial. Not too flashy but still elegant.

You'd think they could just do a one-year deal with both sides making serious concessions for just one year so that they could play and agree to work out a long-term solution to be implemented next year. Oh, wait. They did that. They put an extension clause in this CBA, which the league stomped out as an option before they even scheduled the meetings.

This is so stupid. I seriously think Bettman and Co. wanted to take a year off, devised a plan for doing so, and are following it through to fruition. They were responsible for setting the meetings, which they did at the last minute, and ever since then they've had a negative rhetoric about how far apart the two sides are. Then they announced right off the bat that they would not use the option to play another year on the current CBA and they would go for a lockout. All of this screams bad faith. The initial low-ball offer I can understand from a negotiation point of view even if it reeks of smarmyness <---It's a word because I say so. I don't see any effort on the part of the league nor any urgency as the deadline approaches. Either they seriously don't want this season to happen or they are posturing, and doing so badly.

I told myself that I needed to schedule an annual when I turned 45 since it had been 5 years since my last annual. I'm now 46 and still thinking I should really do that. Write your own obituary or have family/friends/the newspaper do it?

Quite the opposite. I can forgive individual acts, but am way too harsh on tendencies. The person below me feels unworthy when calling about a complaint.
