We are too. We're just not drunk yet. The suckage of the Metro will help Detroit. If the Metro sucks, the Atlantic will get to send five teams to the playoffs, thus increasing our chance of being one of those teams.

Good. So if no one else gets injured by the time Ericsson and Franzen are back, he'll go to GR. If someone else gets injured or ill, he'll stay up. Works for me. I'll stop crying and wailing now. I've gotten telegrams from Uganda stating that I'm scaring their children.

Are we faking injuries/illnesses to deal with the roster crunch?
55fan replied to matthewdanna's topic in General
Nope. All injuries/illnesses are proven and documented. Now if you'll excuse me, I have an appointment to remove Bertuzzi's spleen for exactly 10 games or 21 days, whichever comes first. I don't think we'd be messing around with waiving Tootoo if we were planning on scheduling injuries/illnesses unless we're hoping that the league will think that we have plans for when everyone comes back. It could get interesting if our players continue to fall one by one during the season, especially if some are not well-documented. The league won't question broken bones or the like, but flu-like symptoms could get dicey. We also need to make sure that the "sick" ones are on board with the Plot and don't let on to the media. <glares at Franzen whilst fondling a scalpel> -
Let's hope so! He seems like a nice kid. We can never have too many good goalie prospects. I didn't know he was improving. Thanks for bringing me up to speed on that. I guess you call yourself "goalieman" for a reason.

Don't actually do this. I'm just posting it for the mental picture.

While I certainly agree about the power of prayer, within the confines of a hockey discussion board, we should probably just be glad that each of us accepts that Rinne is a fellow human being and deserves our sympathy. Whatever the individual methodology we pursue to encourage his recovery, we all want him to regain his health. He's a member of our "hockey family". That said, it was just a request. People are free to refuse, accept, or find another mode to comply.

I don't put Coreau in the same class as Mrazek. Not yet, anyway. Of course, potential can only be seen if he is up and practicing with the guys. I agree that he is not actually intended to be a starter, but some time in the locker room, in practice, and possibly on the bench is good experience and exposure for the guy. Amato (above) has a good point about keeping Mrazek waiver-exempt for as long as possible. I think goalies still get longer than skaters, but I could be wrong on that. Either way, I've heard that McCollum hasn't quite got what it takes- not enough to give up on him, just not enough to really look to him as The Man of the Future like we have begun to do with Mrazek (although that may be a bit pre-mature). Coreau (again just from what I've heard) has potential. I didn't mean to make it sound like he was going to bust down the door and take Mrazek's spot, just that he was someone that would be good for us to groom for the future just in case something happens that Mrazek doesn't turn out the way we hope. He's still young (a year older than Mrazek, IIRC) so it's good to help his progress any way we can. I had thought he had more games with GRR. Thanks for setting me straight on that.

Chicago fans steal players helmet off head and dump beer on him

Dang. I was going to watch that game last night and went to bed early instead. That'll teach me. I'm glad no one was hurt by the glass giving way. The one drunken idiot was actually pretty funny. No harm was done and he'll probably feel really stupid in the morning. I don't put this on the same level as someone punching a player or anything. It was stupid for sure, but not malicious. -
If Jimmy and/or JGus are able to start, there's no sense having Mrazak sitting on the bench getting rusty. It's good that he is getting some playing time now. He'll surely be up full time when JGus moves on at the end of this year. Coreau seems to be another "real deal". Assuming Howard stays healthy, we'll have three good goalies if both Mrazek and Coreau pan out. Unfortunately, once both are out of waiver options, one will have to go. Bring Coreau up allows the Wings to get a good look at both of them now and allows them to compete with each other for the spot. Since one will eventually have to be traded, we might as well showcase both so that when the time comes to trade one or the other, we'll know which we want to keep and will get the best return on the other. Ideally, both will put on such a great show that it will be a tough decision and LGW will go ballistic no matter which one we trade away.

Not really. I used to save bicentennial quarters and wheat pennies for a friend, but he passed. I do save half-dollars, dollar coins, and two-dollar bills for a friend. The person below me believes that bigfoot exists.

Shine in general, unless we need the rain. I'm more of an overcast type chick. Human names (ie: Norman or Eileen) or animal names (ie: Fluffy or Fido) for pets?

No. Nonononononononononononono <runs screaming into the night, except that it's 11 in the morning> This seriously sucks. He has more energy and can fight. I'm very sad now. If you need me, I'll be explaining this to my hamster, Jordin.

Oh, yes, I've taken up twerking. (Kidding. I couldn't do that if I tried.) I haven't learned anything new lately, but I'm sure that will change soon. The person below me has clicked on one of the ads on this site for "shocking" videos in other languages and will now tell us all what is so shocking about them.

Leaving is best, but coming home is nice too. Cheese or butter on...um... stuff that can have either?

I guess they need something to cheer for. Not like they can beat up Marmots on a regular basis.

Going with Miller. At most, people outside our little circle know him only as Ryan's brother, if they even know Ryan has a brother.

Mascots are cool for the kids. Beyond that, they're kind of dumb. Still, it doesn't mean it's Marmot season.

I've seen all of the Lions games and several others as well. The challenging week was having the Lions on the computer and flipping between the Packers and Vikings on the tv. Thank goodness the Bears had a later game. The person below me organizes their clothes by colour.

Bet Marty will think twice before offering a lady a chair again- especially if it was someone else's. Really, though, I can see the guy getting mad at Marty for essentially fixing the contest, but that was not cool. You don't fight a species that can't fight back.

It was a sore neck. He hurt it warming up for Vancouver (per Mlive).

Awesome! Now that I quit my night job, I don't have to miss games anymore! Go Wings! Do not do that thing you often do where you underestimate lesser teams.

Wow! What a trip down memory lane. Ozzie looks 12 in that video.

Now he's being WAIVED by Calgary immediately after playing against us. Right? He seems like a really nice guy. I hope for the best for him.

Someone should have stepped in. Third man in penalty would have evened out the instigator penalty, but no loss there. Not like it was a tight game and the loss of a PP would matter. Step in and beat the poo out of him. Keep your goalie safe.
