This was linked by Downgoesbrown from Puckdaddy. I actually found it kind of moving. For those of you who remember the '80's, it's especially fun and a bit corny. Enjoy. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/must-see-roberto-luongo-world-style-tribute-vancouver-122636096.html

There had been speculation that Tootoo would be ready for the opener. Maybe that was why Tatar was not certain whether or not he'd be scratched. Either way, it's the opener so it's exciting, but the lines and scratches will vary throughout the season.
-
I'll play! 1) Tootoo wins many fights. Red-blooded hockey fans love him. Others fear him. 2) Ericsson continues to improve to the point that he meets LGW expectations. 3) Z and Pavel re-activate their Eurotwin Powers. 4) Helm finally gets healthy. 5) Helm scores on a breakaway. Just one, though. 6) Bertuzzi makes it through the season healthy, wins fights, and dazzles with his spin-o-rama. 7) Bertuzzi gets penalized for exposed elbow pads, but convinces Shanny and co. that his jersey is just too intimidated of what he might do to it if it fails to follow his wishes that the "Bertuzzi clause" is introduced. 8) Sammy is a healthy scratch, used only when needed to replace injured players. 9) Sammy scores the first two goals in the SCF like he did the last time I dared to doubt him publicly, thus making a fool out of myself. 10) Vancouver wins the cup, with Lu as the Conn Smythe winner. Note: I do not want the last one, but since "Detroit wins the Cup!" is too easy, I went for something a bit more fantasy-like.

Which (retired) *non* DetroitRedWings player would like to meet?
55fan replied to frankgrimes's topic in General
That's awesome. Yeah, he counts for this thread because he'll be retired soon and you can plan for meeting him when he's retired. That must have been a thrill to learn from a pro. He didn't happen to mention any anti-aging secrets, did he? -
Too bad for him that he couldn't find a place to be up with the big dogs, but it's good for us that we have that sort of depth. If others are better or are more cap-friendly, that's ok. It's still good to have a depth guy like that who is familiar with our team and system when the playoffs roll around.

Do I! (Was that an invitation?) j/k The person below me is excited for the new GDT's for the season.

Dog any day of the week. Not a big fan of brats. Aloe or lanolin?
-
Pretty good showing, although they made me nervous at the end. Bush needs to stay healthy.
-
Nope. Jordin is sleeping in his cage next to me. Plus I have a couple of houseplants, which are also alive. (Yes, bugs were what I was thinking of on that last question.) The person below me enjoys the planning more than the doing.

Buy. I hold on to them for a long time. Amount of time before you start getting nervous over someone who is late: At the set time, five minutes after, ten minutes after, fifteen minutes after, or more (specify)?
-
Oh, dear. I don't hate you at all and you didn't specify what belonging to Monday we're discussing that I might hate more than I hate you. Oh, well. Mondays in general are annoying, and I don't hate you at all, so I'll just be safe and say that I don't. The person below me has been crawled on lately.

I usually grab a thing of yogurt or something portable and take it with me. On occasion, if I forget my lunch or just don't have anything appealing, I'll buy something either from the vending machine or go out, but usually I bring something. It's a lot cheaper, and usually healthier. On the weekends, I work in a c-store, so I always just get something there. Call/text before visiting or just drop in?

Paul Kariya (my sister adores him so I'd want his autograph for her) Phil Esposito (my first hockey crush) Teemu Selanne (Next year. Or the year after that. Or the year after that...) -
I'll also pick Murph, but I'd probably get all drooly and girlygirl and make a fool out of myself.
-
Probert would be my second as well, but that'll have to wait.
-
Mac. Because he's my favourite.

Hopefully he can put on a show for us. The Leafs are not allowing other teams to trifle with them this season. You've started drinking, haven't you? I know it's against the rules to ask for a stream, but in this case, we need you to be prolific. -
This week should be our real test of whether or not we can hang with the league or not. I hope we can.
-
Quite so! In fact, it's become a drinking game. Those of us who participate will thank you once we're sober enough to type. In other words, you are far from alone.
-
No, he beat you because you were his son, which makes you a little s***. Poor Tim Thomas. The guy gets a job- with Tomas Kopecky no less- and we spend the thread talking s***.
-
We must write Alfred a nice thank you note. I have to say that it was weird watching "Cleary #11" look so good. I'm glad that he worked so well with Pavel and Hank. Whether they form a line or not, at least our PP looks decent.
