You're an old school fan I recall the Chicago Stadium...Went to a handful of games there...Upon entering the that old barn - you were literally 'corralled' to your seat, or in my case standing room. There really wasn't a concourse per say - just an area where you went to the bathroom, and a few 'windows' for purchasing food/drinks/etc. Today the owners want to separate us from our $$$ once we enter their establishment; numerous options to pick, and choose from along the vast concourse.

QFT! I have yet to attend a game at the LCA, but I can only imagine what the cost of concessions are as well. I took the family to St.Louis for a game against the Sharks this past spring - much cheaper tickets, and 2 quality NHL teams played that night...I have no regrets.

How can we possibly lose to these guys? As for places to go... My last visit was several years ago, and I stayed at the Greektown Casino/Hotel...Lots of bars/restaurants in the Greektown area, and getting to the LCA should not be an issue since there's the People Mover (light rail), and numerous bars have shuttle buses. Astoria Bakery is a must before you leave - that's if you got a sweet tooth.

Agreed. Most of our guys have regressed since Blashill took over from Babcock, and last nights loss to the Jackets in OT (having Glendenning out there) seems pretty typical of his decision making...

My bold prediction? I'll gain 10 pounds (if not more) during the season while I consume large quantities of beer/scotch/bourbon while sitting on my already fat a$$ cheering on our beloved Detroit Red Wings!

Regardless of what contracts the Wings are saddled with - it all boils down to the 'quality' of players we acquire via the draft for the next 2, or 3 seasons. i'm cautiously optimistic Holland can move another contract, or 2 in order to add more picks for these next 2 draft classes since they're projected to be deep like 2018.

For all we know these rookies might actually make this team fun to watch...Run & gun hockey - high risk high reward.
