Anywho - on a more serious note - if Lindstrom outperforms Stecher - then so be it, but if Stecher continues to play as well as he had in the last dozen games of this past season - I wouldn't be so hasty in having him go. Maybe Stecher can play on the left side...Might be worth a try.

Agreed. I find the idea that since player ‘X’ is 27, or 28, or whatever - he’s not worth keeping around for a handful more seasons is rather silly - especially when considering this player contributed in an area of need. If we had 2, or 3 players that were as good, or better - then fine, but we don’t have that right now and it might be a few more seasons until we have that quality depth.

I was thinking the same initially...As others pointed out - we really improved our LD - moved a 3rd/4th line forward to give some of the kids more playing time - Leddy can mentor Seider - and Leddy could be moved at the deadline to recoup the 2nd round pick. His cap hit and retaining 50% of Panik's cap hit is no issue for the Wings...Both teams appear for the better at this point. And once the dust settles from the expansion draft and 2021 draft weekend - Yzerman can still potentially make moves either via trade, or UFA to bolster the club. My only concern might be with some of our RFAs who are in need of a contract, but I'm, sure that'll get sorted out as well.

Chances are Seattle won't take Cholowski, nor Lindstrom.

His post dates back to the 2019/2020 season - however this past spring my eyes tell me there was some, but not a lot of improvement...Still has that deer in the headlights as to what to do - either forces an errant pass, or coughs it up in our own end.

This is why we protect Stecher and not Cholowski for the exapansion draft.
