The HoF is just not for NHL'ers - it's for the entire sport including women and Euro league players. Vernon, Barrasso, and others such as Osgood, and Cujo are the Pierre Turgeon, Andreychuk, Ciccarrelli, Recchi, Iginla, Sundin, Gartner, etc. WTF do you know - you were still in diapers back in '97...

I've said it before - until now there's been a different set of standards when it comes to goalies elected into the HoF...When you think of HoF netminders - guys instantly pop into your head like Roy, Brodeur, Hasek, and Belfour...But keep in mind guys like Ciccarelli, Andreychuk, and Gartner had also been elected. Many may not realize it, but from 1993 Billy Smith to 2003 Grant Fuhr there were not any goalies elected into the HoF.. All that said - I'm hoping Ozzie gets his due; while not having the Vezina/Selke awards to help his case he certainly has the wins, longevity. and Stanley Cups.
