Tarasenko? O’Reilly? Petro? Binnington? All damn good, but IMHO - not Crosby, Malkin, McDavid, Hedman, Josi level.

I’d like to think that if we can continue to draft, and develop solid talent where our top 6 forwards are averaging 55 to 70 pts, and our top 4 Dmen are solid - we can certainly make the playoffs, and with a bit of luck make it to the Finals.

Elite talent would be nice - however with our draft lottery luck we might just have to be content with “well above average talent”. And that’s fine - St Louis won their Cup - figure we could do the same.

I respectfully disagree...AA hasn't 'fit in' anywhere...And it's not because LA > Edmonton...It's because AA, and his agent screwed the pooch, and more or less are desperate for any deal to stay in the NHL...He'll be outta the league sooner than later.

Good chance it could be 2 eastern time zone teams in the Finals. Once there's a 'winner' in each of the 4 divisions - the team with the best reg season record plays the worst, and as expect #2 vs #3. It'll be an interesting format - to be honest I'm looking forward to it.

While I agree our drafting with Holland at the helm hasn't been spectacular (some will point in the direction of our scouts) - I feel the draft as a whole is a total crapshoot as to who's available, and how they mature over a handful of years after they're drafted. Add to that - the desire to keep the playoff streak alive makes it more challenging for any GM - including overpaying for mediocre talent in order to limp into the playoffs. In some way I sorta feel bad for Holland - did his job well enough to have the respect of his peers over many years - however as soon as the 'prodigal son' returned - well we knew Holland would either have to move upstairs, or find a new gig elsewhere if he wanted to manage another franchise.

Haven't watched much just yet - plan on watching 'Murica destroy BoHonkland tonight.
