Agreed. 49.4% we stay in the top 3. 50.6% we drop to 4th.

I'll be napping (gotta head back to work tonight). I can tolerate dropping back a spot, or two - but dear Hockey Jesus don't let Buffalo/Edmonton/Chicago/NJ drop into the top 3.

There's a good chance Grand Master Y spoke to both Gallant, and Laviolette, and neither wanted the job. If that's the case - then it's probably best to ride it out - as in the Wings won't be playing until Dec/Jan, and it'll likely be a shortened season which will be Blashill's last under his current contract.

I don't see Krug leaving Boston...I'd say he'll sign a 6, or more year deal, and retire a Bruin.

As I said in another thread - me thinks the BoG wants an expanded draft lottery which would include more teams - likely those that are 'booted' early from the 24 team playoff format. It's not surprising...Too many cooks in the kitchen.

$5 says a significant number of the BoG want the 24 team playoff format PLUS some form of consolation for the teams who exit the playoffs early - as in a spot in the draft lottery. As you can imagine the 7 non-playoff teams probably want this done sooner than later, and would prefer to keep it at 7. More news at 10 Ken! -

A year ago I'd say sure to Barrie - however this past season in Leaf Land hasn't been so promising.

Yeah - giving us nothing worse than 2nd overall was unlikely to happen. Those 7 clubs will likely be in a revised draft lottery, and the % of winning, or staying in the top 2, or 3 - who knows?

As much as I wanted it (and Bettman/Daly can push it thru) - I always felt it was unlikely to happen since the 'bosses' aka the BoG would pi$$ & moan relentlessly.
