Or you select him, and reap the benefits by trading him, and win the Cup multiple times...In a different city mind you... Yeah - dumb move by the Lindros clan, but oh well. I doubt there would be issues with any prospect...Even though we're bad - the owner/mgt is just fine. -

I gotta agree with Kip here - sorta meh thus far. What Yzerman moved outta Detroit (other than AA) seemed questionable for the NHL.

I gotta ask - why so down on Yzerman? So far he hasn't done anything spectacular, but he did get a few 2nd rounders for AA - granted Holland might've done Steve a favor.

While true - however hindsight is 20/20. I will say Patrick seemed risky courtesy of his list of injuries prior to getting drafted.

This is a possibility, but it also might be 'overthinking' the situation as well. I'm guessing a good portion of the GMs, and their scouting staff are certain Lefreniere is the BPA in the entire draft...Now - trying to pry something of value away from these guys is probably easier said than done (swapping picks in the top 5). Capt Obvious here - Ottawa might be a prime target once the lotto is set, and done.

I'd feel a poop-ton better if Grand Master Y swapped the 1st pick for the 2nd, 3rd, etc, AND another draft pick/prospect/etc, AND then draft the 'Kraut Wunderkind'. Drafting Stutzle 1st outta the gate has me thinking we'll be the butt of all jokes. If he's really that convinced that Stutzle has the tools to be a legit top flight centerman in the NHL - then so be it...Would be nice if he could pry away Ottawa's top 2 picks (especially if both land in the top 5).
