Makes me wonder if Podkolzin has any grasp of the English language, or culture in Canada, or the States? Having a few Russian teammates on the Wings would certainly help, but we all know nobody can really speculate what nationalities will be on the future Wings roster that could help ease the transition into the life of an NHL'er. Drafting Swedes seems rather painless in comparison...Most speak English, and they adjust to the N.American lifestyle exceptionally well.

We all do... On the bright side...Many players picked outside the top 3 have gone on, and had incredible careers in the NHL.

Son of Todd - cousin of Tyler...Had to look him up...Highly unlikely he'll get to the NHL, but for $hits & giggles I could see him getting picked by the Wings in the 4th, or 5th round.

Any 1 of those guys would be a good choice, but it seems like Cozens is the front runner.

Seems like it'll come down to Byram, Turcotte, Cozens, and Podkolzin.

What I'm interested in is what will Chicago do at #3? To me - that could possibly change who Colorado, LA, and Detroit pick...Do the Hawks go with Byram, or the 'hometown kid' Turcotte?..Does Podkolzin really fall down to 6th, or more as what Button's final list predicts? Picks from #3 on up will be very interesting!

Trying to think which former Russian NHL’er Podkolzin might emulate based on the description provided by Draper... Initially thought Nemchinov, but while looking up his stats he was always a 40 sumthin pts guy. Then while researching I was shocked to see that Kovalev had amassed 1029 pts along with 1304 pen min.
