I can see Kip's point though...Nobody is doubting the skillset - it's the 'style' of play that will likely have to change for Hughes...He's not gonna have the time, and space (literally a smaller 200X85 when compared to 200X100, and the NHL Dmen are much better players than what he's used to at the college level). That said - I'll be thrilled if he becomes a Red Wing!.

This has been my take as well...Just like last season - I'd rather see some of the young guys emerge, and contribute instead of hiding in the shadows. The chance of all 3 bottom feeders keeping their current spot come April 9th is fairly slim. I think we're due moving up this year.

Seeing him play live at the LCA he seemed ‘ok’ - however he probably is lacking the mobility when going up against the oppositions top skaters.

I really hope McIlrath, and Witkowski finish the season on the ice, and not in the press box...Their enthusiasm for rough play makes these last few games more entertaining.

Unless he's offered sumthin more appealing - I'd say yes - he'll be back.

Honest question here...Do you realize what you're posting? Buffalo/Edmonton are the armpit of the league for 10 plus years along with their draft picks. Here we are with our 'kids' giving a solid playoff franchise in the Bruins a run for their $$$. Licking the urinal cake doesn't make you any better...It just makes you more tolerant of it's flavor in doing so year after year which is what some of our competition has done for quite some time. Don't get me wrong - losing def sucks.....But I'd rather see us losing while competitive than losing while pathetic.

Once again - this right here. With the intro of the lottery just about anything can happen. The Sabres lost tonight 4-0, and yet some how they're supposed to be in a 'better' position than us.

I think you're missing the trees for the forest here my friend... Being bad doesn't guarantee any hi-end franchise player...Truth be told there's a significant amount of luck - in both the lottery, and where you end up drafting, AND how the player you draft matures, and develops over the next handful of years. If sucking bad, and drafting in the top 5 for multiple years.....Well then we should've been watching the Oilers skate around with the Cup overhead for a handful of times by now.
