    Being the only player showing up every game will do that. Every player goes through extended slumps. Usually there is secondary scoring to help pick up the slack. Or at least other primary scoring.

    Of the many things wrong with this team, their very slow passing and painfully slow one timer setups piss me off the most. I haven't seen any team in the league telegraph their moves so obviously. Sometimes we give the opposing goalie a full 3-4 seconds to prepare for what should be a quick pass and lightning one timer.

    I lost a lot of respect for Toews in the 2013 series. He didn't seem like a very good leader, almost single handedly costing his teen the series and winning like Crosby. Until then I bought the hype of his great leadership but I think Seabrook might be the better leader in that team.

    Marchenko is still developing. Smith and Ericsson aren't. Saying Smith is better than Ericsson is like saying eating poop is better than eating rotten garbage.

    To me a rival has to be more than just another opponent. I harbor no ill will or super competitive feelings toward Florida, and I doubt the team does.

    He's had far more terrible games than decent r good games. I think he's an AHL guy who occasionally overachieved.

    Too much. If you go too fast without the accuracy and hands to complete passes and goal setups it doesn't do you any good.

    The D isn't so bad on the jersey. But the weird stripe clashes with any sense of style and the numbers are ginormous. I hope and think this alumni game might actually be competitive.

    Larkin has always been a center, hasn't he? I just figured Blashill was easing him into the league by using him as a winger first.And I don't see how Blashill can't be tempted to try Larkin-Athanasiou-Datsyuk at least for one game. Total dominance.

    The sad thing is that 25-30 goals is pretty much the ceiling for players on this team it seems. I know we rarely has 40 goal scorers but it'd be nice if we could get back to 35 goal scorers carrying the team.

    That's why relying solely on the draft to build a team is silly. If yor first batch doesn't work you have to wait and see anther 5-10 years to see if the next one works and so on. We need a balanced draft-trade ratio to build a top team.

    Only saw him once, when he tried to carry the puck into the offensive zone and immediately lost the puck because the defender saw him try to get cute and just stripped him of the puck.

    Spreading the wealth doesn't work for us anyway. Better to have an unstoppable line, finish the season, and add pieces to make the other lines more dynamic. As it stands we put a creative player on a line and the other two are just anchors.

    Larkin-Datsyuk-Athanasiou could be a really interesting line. Two super fast kids, three really creative, aggressive players.

    Dear Holland, here's what you build around next year: Datsyuk, Z, Athanasiou, and Larkin up front, DeKeyser, Marchenko, Quincey, Mrazek and Oullette on the back end. Upgrade anywhere else.
