Subban would be a great acqusition, but no way in hell at that price... how about Quincey's right's for Subban's rights straight up... that's more accurate... at MOST go something like Quincey and Mursak... no way in hell is he worth Flip, let alone Flip AND Tatar, regardless of his upside, or age... I like Subban a lot, but he is not a number one, and thus would not (and should not) command what a top 2 dman would...

Sign Doan, sign Jurcina, trade Quincey's rights for PK Subban's rights, trade Emmerton and Mursak for some picks and/or someone with some minor league options(to get under the roster limit) and call it a day...

The guy is a warrior who gives it his all night in and night out and was still one of our best forwards come playoff time DESPITE playing on knees that were basically held together by twine and bubble gum... Campbell isn't a FA, neither is Boumeester... Both would be decent additions for the right price, but I can't see Florida trading Campbell and Calgary had apparently been asking too much for Boumeester, who would already be a gamble and a reclamation project at that, although I do think he would flourish here... Trading for Ryan is also a situation where the deal has to make sense, you don't mortgage the team chasing one piece and Anaheim has apparently been asking for the world... Plus, why do they keep trying to get rid of him? Are the off ice concerns true? We don't need cancers here... I wouldn't hate signing Semin, as long as the term and money wasn't too high, but he has a very questionable work ethic and attitude... So that move would be high risk, high reward Signing Doan would be awesome, but I still don't see him leaving Phoenix, and term has to make sense... He's not a young buck anymore

The thing that concerns me is the lack of D prospects that are anywhere near ready... If the DeKeyser rumors are true (NHL ready, already picked the Wings as his destination) that makes me feel a little better, but Lashoff needs to take a big step in his development this year and we need Sproul, Nicastro, Oulette and even Backman to take big steps in their development... As for forwards, I feel we're in fantastic shape (Pulk, Jarnkok, Shehan, etc, etc, etc) and as far as goalie, we got a STUD in our system as far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Mrazek was pushing Jimmy for the starting gig in 2 years, and although this may sound crazy and even a little reckless, I wouldn't have had a problem with him getting a shot in camp this year to take the backup job from Joey, obviously the signing of Gus changed that, but I genuinely believe Mrazek will be GR's starter sooner, rather than later, and force the Wings hand to bring him up at some point, plus, if Gus does well, we could have a HELL of a good problem to have and some great trade assets in a goalie starved league...
