are you a ******* dumbass? fairweather fans stick around when the going is good...and they're gone when the going gets tough. i always thought the definition was fairly self explanatory. i guess i was wrong. the fairweather fans stopped watching during the early to mid-90's. that's not me. the fairweather fans only started watching during the last 2-ish seasons...and will stop watching once the pistons tank again. not i. go on your dumbass witch-hunt elsewhere...

i said from the outset...if we don't split the first 2, the odds are not in our favor. after we won game three, i said if we don't win the next two, the odds are not in our favor. and that's where we stand. so what the *** are you calling me on? for seeing OBVIOUS odds that have been played out time and time again (with very few exceptions) since the beginning of the modern sports era? if so...guilty! lock me up, sherrif! we are not in good shape...if i were a betting man, i would have put money on the spurs after the first two games. and i would have put money on the spurs after game five. and if we win tonight, i'd still put my money on the spurs. sometimes there's a difference between who you think will win and who you hope will win. spurs were a better regular season team than us...spurs have been more impressive the post season than us...the spurs lead the series...the spurs are at home. i hope the pistons pull this out...but 9 times outta 10, it just doesn't work out for the team on the short end of this stick. dumbass...

dumb fuks like you are so fukin annoying... this happened before EVERY SINGLE RED WINGS GAME in the game day thread...ANYONE says ANYTHING bad about the red wings, and they're haters or bandwagoners/fairweather fans. i said at the beginning of this series that if we don't split in san antonio in the first two games, we lose the series. i still stand by that. i hope i'm wrong, but that's the way i see it. i do NOT see us beating the spurs two straight on their floor. i don't want anything to do with your dumbass bandwagon...i don't wanna be on it, cuz they're just a bunch of fuking loser ass homers that don't know anything about basketball and root blindly while calling everyone else fake fans. i don't wanna be jumping from it, cuz they were never fans to begin with. JUST LIKE WITH THE RED WINGS, I CALL IT LIKE I SEE IT! i'm am merely a fan, no wagons involved. i watched the 88, 89, 90 pistons almost three-peat. then i watched them struggle during the early to mind 90's, when the missed the playoffs like 4-5 seasons in a row. i remember the welling hope that sprang in my piston soul when we drafted both allan houston and lindsey hunter in the same draft!!!!! we made it to the playoffs that year for the first time in many!!!! my god...that was some exciting times! then the next year...we got our saviour, grant hill...we were set at 1,2,3 for the next decade with hunter, houston, and hill! almost made it to the second round of the playoffs the followong year. then in 99 (?)...we should made the second round of the playoffs!!!! *** YOU LAETTNER! YOU SUCK! WE SHOULDA MADE IT! dude...i been through it all...and i've always called it like i've seen it...if i think we suck balls and we're doomed to lose, i'll say it. if i think we're gonna dominate, i'll say it. either way, i'm always watching and rooting... so *** you, you dumbass no nothing fan wannabe!

IMHO... If Pistons win tonight, the odds are dead even on who wins the title. If the Pistons lose tonight, Spurs probably win the title.

    Tigers

Rumors (mostly from USA Today during the past week) Wanna know why Ugueth Urbina was traded when he was? Apparently, Urbina got into a fight with Magglio Ordonez...and he got into a verbal confrontation with Troy Percival. So that was that...management decided it was time to move Urbina and get him out of the club house... Also, Magglio Ordonez has allegedly told friends he wouldn't mind being traded this winter if the Tigers don't show much greater improvement...he wants to be with a legit contender... And finally, Mike Maroth's name is popping in newspapers for every team looking for a starting pitcher...people are interested in prying him away from our Tigers...

Detroit MUST win the next two games to have a shot at the title...cuz there's no way in heck we can win 2 in a row AT San Antonio to close out the series...

I'm tellin you...like I posted a bit above...we gotta punish anyone that comes drivin to the lane... I aint fukin around...I really mean hammer them! I want the Spur to be woozy...maybe even knocked out for a minute. We NEED Bad Boys, 1989/1990 Pistons basketball...we need Laimbeer, Mahorn type of nastiness... Make this the ugliest game ever...if we gotta win the game 58-57, so be it...

Couple more thoughts to add... -I was listening to the radio today...some national program based in the westcoast. They said Duncan's gonna get his...just put Rasheed on him and let Duncan get what he can. But...the Pistons MUST stop Parker and Ginobili from waltzing through the lane. They talked about how Jerome James of the Sonics told his team to hammer them when they came into the lane...James did his part, but the rest of the Sonics did not. But when James was in the game hammering them, they both turned into ******* and didn't come near the lane. James wasn't trying to intentionally hurt them...he just wanted to make them feel intense pain and fear every time they came into the lane...and if that meant he or another Sonic got a flagrant foul, so be it. I think the Pistons gotta do the same thing. Ben, 'Sheed, Antonio, or whoever is manning the lane...FUKIN MURDER Parker and Ginobili when the decide to drive! Go old school on them...Laimbeer, Mahorn, Rodman, etc. Lets go vintage Bad Boys Pistons! -Offense...I can't stress enough how important 'Sheed will be in this series. Many analysts noted that Duncan simply cannot do anything about 'Sheed. 'Sheed just shoots right over the top of Duncan, plain and simple. And early on, the analysts were right...Duncan looked helpless. But then...'Sheed got only a few more touches the rest of the night. WTF?!?!?! It was either Larry Brown or Chauncy Billups that said on radio that a mistake was made...and that it's the backcourts job to make sure they get 'Sheed and the front court the ball. SO DO IT!!!!! Keep feeding 'Sheed down low! -Pass, pass, pass. Make the extra pass. I said this late in the Miami series. We need to do it again, this time against the Spurs. We don't have dynamic, super star caliber player that can create their own shot. We need to move the ball...and we gotta move well without the ball. Otherwise, our offense is DOOMED! We looked TERRIBLE when we stopped moving against the Heat...we did some of the same in game 1 against the Spurs. Cut it out...move the ball, and move around. -Some individuals have to step up. Ben Wallace is NOT getting it done. Rip needs to fight through Bowen...and MAKE THE SHOT!!!! Many many times he actually got free of Bowen, got the ball, and bricked wide open shots. You CANNOT do that in the NBA FINALS!!!!!!! Tayshuan needs to steop up a little too. -Larry Brown needs to step up. He put our reserves in too early in some quarters...and left them in too long. The Spurs feasted on our backups for at least one stretch that I remember. Oh...and DO NOT play Carlos Arroyo under ANY circumstances! He's TERRIBLE!

I think 'Sheed might be key...we need 'Sheed to get his touches. As a group, we need to defend Parker and Ginobili better too...instead of just letting them drive to the lane at will...

Sorta what I said on the previous page. I like this format for the Pistons...if we split or take both in San Antonio, the series is over...we won. If we we lose both in San An, then you got a better shot at going ahead in the series with three straight at home than if it was otherwise...

Bowen is the best defensive SF in basketball, and was runner up for Defender of the year. I know that's his reputation...and, granted, I saw maybe 4-5 Spurs games this season...but if the guy he was guarding didn't handle the ball on the perimeter, and instead caught the low and worked Bowen inside, Bowen did NOT look impressive...at all... Did I just see bad days by Bowen...or is his entire rep built on his perimeter defense alone? Cuz he was a fantastic perimeter defender in the games I saw...

Someone help me out... Bruce Bowen...the times I have seen him play in the regular season, he looked like a very good perimeter defender but if someone drags him closer in and catches, he's not as good (still above average, but beatable)... Is that his game? Or is he a good defender all over?

I believe if the Pistsons split the first two games in San Antonio, the series is over...we win. I honestly believe the 2-3-2 format for the finals can work to an advantage for the lower seeded team.
