    Where Are The Point Getters?

The Wings have always had balanced scoring. Even during the late 90's and 2000's when this team was actually good. We haven't typically seen our guys finish high in the league leaders category.

    Nichushkin

I thought this thread would be about some character from a Dostoevsky novel. Never even heard of this player.

Datsyuk Now 7th in All-Time Wings Goals

No he won't. He'll need to win about 10 Cups and not be a douchebag. What if they win next year?
  4. Maybe. There's definitely too many anchors. I was hoping young guys like Tatar and Nyquist wouldn't be the anchors, but they are.
  5. Nice dekes. Let these guys shoot from now on.
  6. Would be fun, except we wouldn't have anything dynamic on the other lines.
  7. Datsyuk, Glendenning, Richards
  8. The ref ruined a Datsyuk breakaway. He should be forced to buy all the fans a beer on his credit card.
  9. This team is so boring that I wish Roman Reigns was on it.
  10. We look totally gassed, despite being more rested. This team is playing with no heart. When you lack skill, that's not a good combination. Are Nyquist and Tatar not motivated by AA's play? Or Larkin's? They're technically giving up ice time to those players.
  11. Is there any team in the NHL the last 5 seasons that plays worse than Detroit when the other team is playing a back to back? I can't imagine there is.
  12. Isn't a GM supposed to be smarter than fans and have psychic powers?
  13. I'm glad we finally got that shorthanded goal crap out of the way. As a side note, we scored 10 shorthanded goals in the 2002 playoffs! What if they're funny and cleverly placed? It sounds really cruel when a woman says that.
  14. Jimmy Howard was probably smiling at the end of the bench after that goal.
  15. That could be a backbreaking goal. We'll see how the team responds.

What did Quincey tell Smith about his 2 on 1 defending?

Datsyuk Now 7th in All-Time Wings Goals

I would actually take Kane over him in the clutch department, and that's no knock on Tayes. But I would add Ovechkin and Malkin to your list of better players. Kane as well. Ovechkin has carried that franchise for years. Malkin carried the Pens when Crosby was hurt. Tayes has never had to carry a team, except maybe when he first got there. They have enough stars around him where they complement each other.

Datsyuk Now 7th in All-Time Wings Goals

Tayes is a great player. This thread got screwed up because BB (not Brigitte Bardot) decided to compare stats at age 27. Except, Datsyuk came into the league at age 23, while Tayes came in at age 19. Of course Tayes is better at 27, but that's irrelevant. But to the other posters, lets not diminish Tayes accomplishments so far in his career. He's a very clutch player and pretty much any team would take him over their number 1 center at this point.

More like KFC. Why? He's rich and probably gets to bang hot chicks. Feel bad for us having to watch this team on some nights.

At first, I thought it was a forward, because it looked like he desperately skated to the man with the puck hoping to make something happen. Then I realized it was Smith. Then I wasn't surprised. Certainly not how you see most defensemen playing it.

None of the line combos worked. We either don't have the horses to score goals or guys need to step up. The Rangers were clearly the better team. If not for Howard, they should have won 3-0.

Howard actually playing like he wants his job back. I like that.

Our defensemen suck at getting shots through. Been that way since Lidstrom retired. That's where it all begins. If your point men are weak, it's hard to have an effective powerplay.

Faust? Nice name. Nobody ever accused Green of defensive acumen. Still, he had to make an effort there.
