At first I thought this was a good move, but his numbers this season are nothing to write home about. Still, he's a better puck moving defenseman than most our jobbers on the blue line. Hopefully, his woes had more to do with NJ than him being an old defenseman. P.S. Only Holland would trade for a guy that got beat up by Sidney Crosby in a fight.

Was Shanahan ever in the Wings front office with Holland? Cole is better than Drake at the same stage in their careers that Detroit acquired them.

Just had another thought. One of those trades was with Yzerman and the other was with Jim Nill. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but they are Holland's proteges.

LOL. I'd like to forget that first trade, and the Legwand one I already forgot. You'd think that Holland's trades are so few and far between that they'd be memorable, but I guess that's not true.

I can't wait to see who we acquire in our next trade, in the year 2019.

I just remember in GTA IV, always getting jumped in Hove Beach (real life Brighton Beach), by all the Russians. I could understanding their cussing, so it was funny as hell. By far my favorite neighborhood to visit in the game.

Smith used to be a good fighter until he came to Detroit and got neutered by his coach. Ericsson has handled himself well in fights against guys like Clowe and Boll. He's not exactly going to destroy anyone, but he can defend himself with his size. I have to agree with you. These plays do happen frequently. I've never seen that called a 5 minute major. Not once in all my time of watching NHL hockey have I seen that. Rarely is something that isn't ever called a 5 minute major going to result in a suspension.

I just watch the games on TV, so I don't know how closely those seats are monitored by security and how often they approach people asking to see their tickets.

I always heard Lindros went out of his way for charities. The stories of Brind'Amour's wife have been around for a long time. Not like the Wings didn't have a player (Shanahan) who didn't once sleep with a teammate's wife. Not saying it's OK, but I doubt Lindros was the first or last player to do it. I didn't like Stewart's article when it came out. It was honest (which I like), but he came off like an unprofessional ref by saying that he'd give some players leeway and not Lindros. Maybe all refs think that way, but it's not the proper way to ref by the book. Would have had to be. Lindros could hold his own against any tough guy in the league.

Never been to a Wings game, but has anyone successfully taken those empty seats you always see by the boards? Seems like anyone can sit there.

LOL. Now that I wouldn't recommend. Although, you sleep better for the 2nd state's exam than the 1st state's, I still wouldn't stay up watching a game the night before. A West coast game no less. And probably making more money than any lawyer not in a big firm.
