I've been saying this s*** for years. How in the hell can you play a collapsing diamond PK when you have a team that absolutely refuses to block shots, and is among the worst in the league in that category perennially? How can that happen Mr. Babcock?

When your nickname is Mr. Hockey, and you play for a team for 25 years, it's hard to say anyone was a better player for that franchise.

Last year we made a playoff push because we had Datsyuk and Zetterberg to lead the team at the end. This year, we have David Legwand and Joakim Andersson to lead us to..............................

How many years do we have to use injuries as an excuse? There seems to be a problem with this team's strength and conditioning that we have these constant injury problems. Maybe we should trade the team masseuse to Ottawa or something.

The Wings are 26th in shots blocked this season. Don't know what that amateur Ozzie was talking about us being good at blocked shots. We're never good at blocking shots. We suck notoriously at defending the point. We gave up several great chances from the point in the last few minutes.

This team, coach and GM deserve to miss the playoffs so badly. The only people who don't deserve it are the fans, but maybe we do, because we've made the playoffs more than anyone else in recent memory.

And that's how you miss the playoffs folks. No team in hockey defends the point worse than your (afraid to block shots) Red Wings.

I'd take him. If you're gonna miss the playoffs, you may as well have fun doing it.

I didn't know he was an intern all this time. I thought he was being paid millions to put the Red Wings first and foremost on his list of priorities when it comes to hockey. Point is, the team has rewarded him for what he's done for it over the years. That's why he's a multi-millionaire, unlike any of us. But he's also under contract this season to perform for the team. There is no immunity because of the past as long as one is making big bucks in the present. If he's healthy and wants to play for his country, great. If he's hurt and is in danger of aggravating an existing injury to play in the Olympics, then it's not OK. If he's even more hurt to the point where he would only play for the Olympic team and not his NHL team in similar circumstances, then that is the worst scenario. I hope that's not what happened here.

Could care less if NHL players don't play in the Olympics again. Unless the games are in North America, you can't watch any of them live without quitting your job. And the primetime evening coverage doesn't show re-runs of hockey. They only had one channel showing the evening coverage when most people have returned from their workdays. One the bright side, I got to see plenty of figure skating and women in khaki pants doing stupid stunts on a snowboard.
