Quincey to play for Denver Cutthroats CHL Hockey Team
GMRwings1983 replied to Behind Enemy Lines in CO's topic in General
Seems like a strange name for a team. Pretty sure in pro sports, such a name would be considered too inappropriate, since it implies cutting someone's throat, which I believe is illegal. -
None of those players are pure goal scorers, as the stats show.

Who was the better Wing/Player? Yzerman or Lidstrom
GMRwings1983 replied to number9's topic in General
Better player. Lidstrom Better Red Wing. Yzerman. I think Lidstrom's all time ranking will ultimately be higher around NHL circles, but Yzerman was more important for the franchise and being the face of the team so long. -
Lebda sucks. Could skate really fast, though.

Sacrifice the full season to guarantee Bettman's removal?
GMRwings1983 replied to stevkrause's topic in General
Can't they just burn Bettman inside of a Wicker Man to save the season? -
Does anyone think these owners or players really give a s*** about fans being upset? I don't.

Every time Mark Mowers stepped on the ice, it was a strange moment.

So would this count as one of the biggest chokejobs in hockey history? The Russians were up 3-1-1, with three games left to go, and all on Russian soil. And in the final game, they were up by 2 goals after the second intermission. Yet they still somehow lost the series. Granted, they were heavy underdogs going into the series, but it's still a massive collapse as far as I'm concerned.

How about Tie Domi fighting that drunken fan in the penalty box? Or how about the time Gilles Gratton (the weirdest guy in hockey history) first unveiled his tiger mask.

Funny how nowhere in the stupid American sports media (espn) is this lockout even being remotely covered. Maybe the NHL network should cover it a little, instead of mindlessly replaying last year's playoff games over and over, like they've been doing the last few years.

Agree with everyone else here. Don't know why the league went back to old school crap, when there's like 30 teams in the league now.

Pavel looking liberated without Beavis and Butt-Head playing on his line.

That 2nd row isn't too bad, huh? And Metro Prystai is one of the greatest sports names ever.

Maybe Zenit can sign him to some monstrous contract.

I'd feel safer if he played for Vityaz.

Report: NHL may cancel Winter Classic by November if no CBA deal

That would actually be fun. -

I wonder what channel the NHL will be relegated to when it returns in 2014? Can't get much worse than Versus, you'd think. -

I'd like to think they can still save the season, but I lost faith in that based on the last lockout. -

I blame everyone associated with the NHL for this debacle. Part of me wishes the league would fold, since they're stupid enough to have 2 lockouts within one decade. -
The NHL's 50 Greatest Non-North American Players

Strange rankings. Reminded me of the greatest ever imdb film list, which has Lord of the Rings ranked above Goodfellas and Casablanca. -
Would a Shorter Season Help or Hurt the Wings?
GMRwings1983 replied to CrimsonFlame's topic in General
Will there be a Winter Classic if the season is shorter? -
Fans will obviously vote for Yzerman, because the twitter people are too young to remember Gordie Howe or what he did for the franchise and the NHL in general.

Does Grigorenko count?

You're entitled to your opinion, but I wouldn't call Kharlamov a "romantic flash in the pan". I've never heard anyone but you say he was behind Makarov. He influenced a generation of Russian forwards and would have been dominant in the NHL, much like he was in the Summit Series.
