That is for the owners that turn a profit. Which is 12 out of 30. That is why they need the players to take less money to get that number at least above 20. Some teams may just have to face the horrible reality of relocation to balance out the economics in the league....Yotes, Devils, Islanders, you get the idea. Set the cap at 65 mil next year with a percentage rollback from 70.2 which is approximately .09259 if you divide 65/70.2. So that would entail a salary rollback of a modest 7.41 % so we'll just round it to 7.5 %. Then you raise the cap annually as proposed for 6 years but by 1 million reaching the 71 million in the 6th year, but with less damage control for GM's to endure to start this season and you will have every team automatically cap compliant with the 7.5 % rollback which the players should not have major issues with. If you make 6 mil, you will now make 5.55 mil. Still making bank but not giving back excessive amounts.

If they buy players out then they lose them so how would this help the teams salary cap situations when they would have to sign someone to replace them? Say the Wild have cap trouble, which they will cause they're currently a couple mil from the 70.2 mil cap, and they have no choice but to buy out a more expensive player or 2 to be cap compliant. Say Heatley and Gilbert, which wouldn't be that bad to get rid of anyways, but that shaves 11 mil off and now they are at 66 mil, they still need 2 roster spots filled with 2 mil remaining on their cap. The NHL's proposal wouldn't work for most teams that have already committed funds to the "already proposed cap" unless there's a salary roll back like last time. It's impossible to shave 12.2 mil without players current salaries taking the hit. just found this quote in the article provided: Well, perhaps the easiest way to look at this is in terms of the salary cap. If this deal proceeds as planned, then the 2012-13 cap would be $58 million. Which, by the way, if there’s no rollback of current salaries or other adjustments, would mean that 16 teams are over the proposed cap based on the current figures from Cap Geek. The Boston Bruins and Minnesota Wild are currently exceeding the proposed salary cap by more than $10 million. Pretty much says what i was getting at.

Along with Dan Girardi of course... As long as Wheeler is a Jet or a Wing, I'll be happy. As for Burmistrov, kid's a hell of a hockey player who i would very much like to see play with Dats even for a game on a line together. The 2 of them could play a game of keep away in the next olympics

We've already beat to death the fact that the Thunder Buddies wives said they were going to Minnesota. The issue needs to die already just like their careers and cup dreams will there.
-
Konawalchuk dove on Steve Moore and Bertuzzi thus breaking the overrated 4th line headhunters neck. There's a pile of diving for you and overrating He's had Rangers teams that have been solid, but not cup contenders. Usually losing depth on the bottom lines cause the GM has a habit of signing overrated bums to lots of money. Lundqvist is the man.

I thought you meant Hudler was on the roof. My bad.

I will no longer be getting NHL centre ice this year and will also apparently be saving $10 per month on the Jets channel. Question...how will teams be able to be cap compliant if there's no salary rollback? A lot of teams are within a few million $$ of the 70.2 mil cap. Philly and Minnesota i believe to name a couple. So with that deal, the Wings would be able to spend a couple million and that's it and a number of teams will have to shed salary with no team actually able to pick them up. How does the NHL's proposal make any sense as a result?

Then I can table idea #2. Z - Dats - Cleary Mule - Flip - Sammy Nyquist - Helm - Brunner (stupid fast line) Tuzzi - Abby - Tootoo Eaves (unfortunately, cause i'd have him in place of Bert in a heartbeat) 3 scoring lines
-
The Devils were a fluke this year, not the Kings. Devils would have got wrecked if the Flyers didn't need team surgery....everyone on the cutting table . Agree with Fleury and Green. Green is garbage. Lundqvist....he plays lights out and his team can't bury one in front of him. Makes all the big game changing saves and his team can't cash on the momentum. Lundqvist is the man. The only goalies in the league that contest him are obviously Brodeur, Quick, Howard and Cory Schneider lol. Eat it Bobby Lou!
-
This basically. Brunner and Nyquist are both top 6 type players and there's zero point to putting Gus on the 4th line. Sammy would be better on the 3rd line providing good 2-way play and depth scoring with Helm and Cleary. The main problem is that we can't do much with Bert other than top line, however my ideal lines would be: Brunner - Dats - Mule Flip - Z - Nyquist Bert - Helm - Sammy Tootoo - Abby - Eaves Cleary (sorry Cleary fans) Miller as F/D tweener ala Meech

We're the best fans in the world....we don't mind if there's ANOTHER lockout so the suits can try and gouge the players for even more than the 24% last time. We'll come back cause we're the best fans in the world. ANOTHER lockout won't change the lives of all the hardcore hockey fans not getting to watch Hockey Night In Canada saturday nights and 2-8 games per week on tv. Our lives aren't affected whatsoever. We'll survive and come back stronger cause we're the best fans in the world. Convinced why I personally have animosity? He's af****** ignorant little cock sucker and I hope he burns in hell. Sincerely, one of the best fans in the world. Mods: Apologize for the use of language in this, but I was required to show my animosity...

He seems a lot like Dats. I had the Jets channel last year and got to watch about 50 or so Jets games and he's got the personality. He's a pretty calm kid and he can dangle pretty damn good. At his point i'd make the best comparison skill wise to Filppula. In a couple more years I could see him topping 70 points on the top line with Wheeler and Kane. Ladd will be back on a 2nd line where he belongs.

I believe it was after his mother passed away after battling cancer. Dude got pretty depressed and his game went to s***. I recall that being the story. Used to be a big Redden fan.

Maybe they'll keep more focus without Gary Bettman being close to shiny things in the HOF... Oh wait.... Tuesday's meeting is cut short to 14 1/2 minutes. Gary Bettman is later found in Manhattan staring at the Statue of Liberty. This has been going on for 6 hours. Someone taps him on the shoulder and he comes out of his daze and blerts out LOCKOUT.
-
I thought that was serious at first. That's a bad thing that i'm not surprised that Gary Bettman wouldn't know what offsides are... The kind of guy that the entire world makes fun of...is that really the guy that the owners want to keep hanging on to as the head of the NHL?

Frk and Athaniesou could benefit as well. Athaniesou skates and moves a lot like dare i say Pavel Bure or Sergei Federov. He may be the steal of the draft this year. I really hope Dats plays at least a couple more years after his next 2 are up. The string of great players retiring/leaving from the Wings since Yzerman is astounding. Dats and Z are gonna crush me possibly as much as Yzerman, Shanny, Federov, Lids....
-
Not only is this an awesome story, but with the Jets as my 2nd favorite team as a Winnipegger, Dats did a big favor to us as well. You can tell by watching Burmistrov as well who he models his game after. Seems like Dats passed on more than equipment.

As long as they keep pooping the bed come playoff time, I will continue to laugh at them and how high people rate them. The only annoying part about their overratedness is playing EA Sports NHL games. Horsecrap! I turn the durability down on the Nucks, Pens and Sharts players and wreck shop with Kronwall, whose hitting, strength and balance gets 99'd for GM mode. Cheap? maybe. Fun? Oh hell yeah! I'm not playing hockey...I'm making pancakes

Did he come out and say he wasn't playing? Would be awesome to see him wear the C for one last Wings game.

How many of those guys grew up in the WHL? The QMJHL is the worst for producing divers in Canada. Do that in the WHL and you'll get shat kicked.

On board with this one for sure. Leino's had a crappy ride since his playoff run with Philly, but he hasn't impressed much aside from that run. I hate Mike Green. Semin is lazy. Brad Richards is an interesting case. He puts up points, but aside from his Conn Smythe with the 04 Bolts, he just seems to blend in a lot. He seems to wait for things to happen, not make the plays happen himself. I think Ryan Kesler is overrated.

I'll be renewing my EA Sports Season Ticket so i can have NHL13 at the beginning of my holidays, so i will see you boys on there. BleedRedWing

Though he remains a ****** there is no mistaking that.
